Small house right off the corner of 10, this is a great spot for gathering, great bar selections and a fantastic menu! The bar is downstairs where you are greeted to check reservations for dinner. For this type of building in NYC the bar is rather large with low ceiling a decorated nicely. THe restaurant upstairs is "Paris like with... More

Two middle aged couples had dinner at Bobo. The food was fabulous and they paid attention to special requests as one of our party is Vegetarian. There are lots of steps which we didn't mind. There is a table in the back which is near the windows which we moved from as there was some sort of weird vibration. The... More

What a find! One of those iconic French West village restaurants, oozing charm with its tasteful and eclectic décor, good food and EXCELLENT service. I cannot overemphasize the attentiveness of the staff, they make you feel special and coddled. Although we don't live downtown, will trek down to Bobo's again. A lovely evening from start to finish.

We really enjoyed our time at bobo, a bit over hyped. Mussels are a must have and the short rib is fantastic. We found it hard to choose our meal the waiter was quite helpful. I will go again as I enjoyed the ambiance and location.

Last summer on a rare evening out without the kids, my wife and I were walking through the Village and stumbled upon Bobo where we had a delicious drink at the cozy bar downstairs. A few weeks later, we returned to Bobo for dinner, and we enjoyed a lovely dinner on the outside terrace. The menu is very French influenced,... More

This is a superbly decorated located with a distinct French influence. Our visit was marred by two large parties - a VERY noisy baby shower and a post wedding party. However we enjoyed a great brunch menu - worth a return visit withiout the baby shower!

I'm not sure how to explain the menu, but maybe modern French American may be the closest I can come. Definitely has a French background, but not traditional except for a few dishes like the escargot which was very good, and the duck was outstanding! You enter into the basement where there is a very lively and cool bar, and... More

Went there for the first time, during Restaurant week. Good prices for special wines and we ordered the special 3 course meal. It was disappointing, the Scallop Crudo was not very tasty, and the Pasta was overcooked and not al dente. Desert was also overdone and underwhelming. The Corn appetizer was very good and the wine by glass during happy... More

The food as always was excellent. The service was superior. The pianist was also excellent and his choice of tunes played was very relaxing and comforting. It sounded like my playlist from my Iphone. Michael (manager) is doing a great job.

Staying in West Village

Neighbourhood Profile
West Village
Stretching from Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River, the West Village is one of the city’s most coveted addresses. Full of trendy shops, historic taverns, and cozy restaurants set amid 19th century architecture, this neighbourhood has a unique old-world feel. You won’t find a more picturesque location in Manhattan. Without the traditional city grid layout, it’s easy to get lost here, but that’s part of the fun as you stroll down elegant narrow streets with beautiful brownstones. When you need a break, you can always stop in at one of the many quaint eateries or cafes to soak in the atmosphere, or head to the western edge of the neighborhood to enjoy magnificent waterfront views while taking a leisurely walk in Hudson River Park.
