I live in NYC and dine at great restaurants several times a week. I was never enamored by Fig and Olive but a friend talked me into going back tonight. We walked into the restaurant and asked to sit at an empty table. The hostess/waitress - tall with long dark hair - said wait just a moment. She proceeded to... More

Everything the four of us ordered was beautifully presented and well prepared. Our entrees: Sea Bass, Hanger Steak, and Riviera Salmon all received rave reviews and the side of Sautéed Spinach was excellent, as well. Service was above average and sufficiently competent. Varied and diverse menu. Try it, you'll like it!

It's hard to be at the top of the list anywhere, especially NYC but this place is great. Outstanding and unique drinks, incredible appetizers and wonderful entrees. The service is very good as is the ambiance. It's energetic but not too loud. You have a lot of vegetarian things to pick from as well. You won't be disappointed.

Tasty Mediterranean food! Affordable, medium-sized portions of choice seafood (that was our selection), with olive oil and spices that tasted perfect. Fresh bread with three types of olive oil with wine by the glass made our short wait for the food pass like a breeze. The tables were placed too close together, which allowed TMI to be overheard from the... More

I was meeting someone here for lunch but I passed it by twice without realizing it was there, for some reason it has a small frontage on Lexington Avenue and does not stand out. Unlike other Fig & Olive's, it doesn't overwhelm you with vintage olive oils, etc., which can be a bit much. It was a rainy day, but... More

Ordered the 6 crostini plate with 6 different tapas. They were too cold, nothing spectacular. One of them was particularly bad - the prosciutto was chewy thick slices. But the pasta was very good. There are great places in Manhattan for delicious tapas and this is not one of them. The service was very good.

What a Meditterean dream this place is. I had soup and some crostinis (try the fig spread one!) and it was delicious. My friend had a salad and also found it to be quite good. They bring out olive oil (from multiple locations) and bread which were so so good.

My husband, daughter and I went there for lunch before touring a local college. The waitress was great despite being super busy. The food on the other hand was only okay. My husband had a burger and it was not good. I had the quinoa salad which was okay. My daughter enjoyed her salad. With tip, it was almost $100.... More

We went for lunch around 1:30 pm. The restaurant was short staffed and we had to ask for water. Our drinks did not come until our food was served. The octopus was not very pleasing and sent back.

Description
At FIG & OLIVE, we want to highlight our menu’s core ingredient of olive oil, which we use in place of butter in our dishes. From a sweet and delicate olive oil from the French Riviera that pairs well with a Steamed Lemon Sole Papillote to an assertive Spanish Picual or a Tuscan olive oil that holds its own with Seared Salmon with Fennel and Green Olives, and a green-fruit Provence olive oil that we serve with a Green Apple Sorbet. Our cuisine along with an elegant white, green and terra-cotta décor immerse our guests into the essence of the Mediterranean region.

Staying in Upper East Side

Neighbourhood Profile
Upper East Side
Combining quiet residential neighbourhoods that have easy access to Central Park with world-famous cultural institutions, the Upper East Side is one of the most livable places in the city. Along beautiful Fifth Avenue, you’ll find Museum Mile, which houses many of the nation's most famous attractions in a single stretch, like The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Guggenheim Museum. Walk a few blocks into the neighbourhood, and you’ll come to Park Avenue, the poshest address in the city, lined with grand apartment buildings as far as the eye can see. Even if you can’t afford the luxury goods along Madison Avenue, it’s still a great spot to window shop an afternoon away.
