Great guacamole, delicious margaritas. The hibiscus and tamarind margarita. Food was really good and tasty. We had the enchilada mole, the lamb dish and the camarones borrachos. All delicious.

This place is small and cozy but it's absolutely worth going to try the Mexican specialities. The guacamole is unreal and the enchiladas are exceptional Good Mexican beers too

Would have never found this spot had it not been for a recommendation of a friend. This is the best Mexican food I've found yet. Its a small space but packs a big punch. The margaritas are off the chart. I recommend upgrading to "top shelf ". The traditional lime and jalapeno are great. Great in the summer when all... More

Great place to eat, definitively overpriced considering the portion size and quality, even by NYC standards though. Would be 5 stars if the prices were 25% lower. Everything on the menu is great.

We stumbled onto this place with a "Mexican food near me" search while visiting NYC. I couldn't have been more impressed with the choice to go here. Right from the beginning, entering into this tiny little jam packed place, without a reservation the gentleman at the door made space for my mom and I to sit. The staff was very... More

Was here around dinner time. Short wait for a table. Must've been tail end of happy hour. The place was packed. It's not very big to begin with. Friendly staff. Close quarters seating-wise (typical NYC.) We both went with the two taco plate for $8. Both tacos have to be the same, which kind of stinks. I had Mahi they... More

Good food and cool ambiance for a more than decent price in NYC? Hit Barrio chino. The menu is very vast both meat and fish are served (recommended the steak and guacamole chips). Next time I would like to try the recommended drinks. Negative note: the service is quite slow and the space is limited so make sure you have... More

Saw this spot open so I went in. Sat at the bar. The bisteak sandwich was delicious. You have to try it. The menu had a good selection of food but went with the bisteak . My title was "try this place for lunch" Dinner here wouldn't disappoint at all. Bottled beer only. Good selection of Mexican brews. Be back... More

we had 6 for lunch the other day. The menu looked fabulous and we got a table quickly. We ordered then waited almost an hour for our food to come out. Kind of a long time when we ordered burgers, salmon sandwich, shrimp tacos and a salad. When the food finally came it was delicious though! Our server was a... More

The restaurant: Small, crowded and LOUD, it is still a fun find in Chinatown. Who knew? (learned from a local) The service: Always smiling, quick to attend to us, despite a packed house. They made suggestions and helped us round out our meal selections. The food: Authentic and delicious. Combinations of sweet and savory, mild and hot, soft and crunchy...these... More

Staying in Lower East Side

Neighbourhood Profile
Lower East Side
Straddling the bridge between New York’s thriving immigrant past and its modern transformation into a beacon of global art and culture, the Lower East Side is one of the most dynamic neighbourhoods in the city. The blocks of tenements that represented the promise and blight of the Lower East Side immigrant experience now command top dollar for new residents. Right next to old-world delis, 24-hour bodegas, and the garment shops of Orchard Street, you’ll find hip clubs, fashionable bistros, and luxury hotels beckoning at all hours of the evening. If you love nightlife and live music, it’s hard to beat the scene here.
