Been there at least 5 times. Frankly and from the bottom of my heart, they do the best pizza I ever. I'm an intense worldwide traveler and a pizza lover. I have eaten pizza on the 5 continents with big expectations and rarely I find a pizza that is a proper one. I will always remember how I found this... More

We often make a point to visit Luzzo's when we are in the city. Awesome thin crust pizza that feels like you are eating in Italy. Unique decorations. Cash only, so plan ahead!

I had found this place 5 years ago and always lamented forgetting the name! Then bam, the other night I decide to look up what's around in my new neighborhood and we chose luzzo's. The second I walked in I was so excited. They have authentic coal fired pizza with ridiculously fresh toppings. It's more than theb$1 slice you might... More

Pizza was excellent. Cooked in a wood/coal oven that gave it that excellent crispy texture Mozz was fresh. Sauce was understated. Prosciutto was very good. As for the pasta carbonara. It wqs very bland. No taste whatsoever. Its not on the menu any longer They will not pasta ai ogli. Seriously. How hard is it to make oil and garlic.... More

My dream pizza is crunchy/crispy thin crust with sweet tomato sauce and mozzarella cheese. I was on the westside on 14th street and walked into Gansevoort Market and had a slice from Luzon's stand and was impressed. A few weeks later my family and I were in NYC and stopped by Luzon's joint on the Eastside just off 14th St.... More

Staying in East Village

Neighbourhood Profile
East Village
There’s still an independent vibe to the East Village, which offers plenty of unique small businesses catering to longtime New Yorkers and area college students alike. The East Village retains a bit of the old-time neighbourhood feel that you can still experience today thanks to a mix of locally-owned shops, cozy restaurants, and lively bars. The scale of the residential blocks makes this a wonderful place to wander up and down the streets searching for the newest hip spot, or an old-school favorite. In the center of the neighbourhood, Tompkins Square Park serves as a gathering point for the New Yorkers that call the East Village home. The people-watching here is hard to beat.
