Very fresh ingredients. Lots of choices. Pleasant and efficient waiter who accommodated my request for no hot spice without a lecture. Fantastic value. Best Korean food outside of Seoul. As I was outside studying the menu, a local Korean woman passing by gave a strong, unsolicited endorsement. She said it was the best Korean food in NYC. I'm glad I... More

Busy and popular this K-Town staple has been here for a long time. Consistent and reliable with main courses for around $10. Staff are helpful and efficient. The barley tea is perfect with lunch. Been here several times and always great

Although we found everything to be delicious, what I wanted to write about was the graciousness of the staff. We let our waiter know we were first timers to Korean BBQ and a little confused on what to order. He smiled and jumped right into the menu, explaining everything. As the food came out he and another waiter were showing... More

I am Korean. I know when the dish is not acceptable. Chef is probably young or not experienced. I had Naengmyun. They should have paid me to have that dish. Awful.

We really enjoyed our visit to Shilla. We had marinated pork and the beef ribs BBQ, which came with a variety of delicious sides. We had little experience with Korean BBQ, and the server was helpful in guiding us. She told us how to make the lettuce rolls, and suggested some other dishes to round out the meal.

I had taken a Rice Cake Dumpling. Very very good restaurant. Most of courses are spacy, it's very tasty.

I went with a group of 9 people and at first we did not know what to think because of the decor and the lighting. It looks kind a cheap but the food is amazing. We ordered a combo of everything for the table Pork, beef, shrimps and the whole experience was very nice. Recommend it for a large group and try... More

The seating was a bit unorganized. The server was pretty on point. The stone pot lunch specials were good. Their food is a bit on the salty and sweet side so be prepared for that. The raw fish over rice and veggies was nice and fresh (hwe dup bap). Spicy pork is recommended. Overall good meal but pricy like most... More

I'm not a Korean BBQ connoisseur, but I enjoyed the experience. We didn't have a reservation, but our group of 6 was seated within 10 minutes of arriving. We received our food shortly after placing our order, and the staff was very attentive and friendly. I ordered the ribs, and they were very good! I will be back the next... More

So I know that this is a barbecue place, but I was in the mood for a spicy bowl of soup. I opted for the most "popular" item, the beef short rib in spicy broth. I always go into a restaurant, rooting for the place and willing to overlook minor matters, but a few bites in, and there simply no... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
