I came to Obao for a quick bite in between acting classes. When I walked in I thought the play was really cool with hip lighting decorations! I ordered the duck and noodles. It was absolutely delicious. The other food dishes and cocktails looked mouthwatering...More

I used to love Obao, but like many Manhattan restaurants, especially in the Theater District, it started out well and the declined. Food was mediocre, and it’s incredibly noisy. With the plethora of Asian food in the Theater District I’ll be looking elsewhere.

Got here after TA &YELP recommendations and we weren't disappointed. Great thai food, nice portions, not too pricey and nice stuff. Midtown has many great restaurants - if you're up for some thai/vietnamese/asian don't hesitate. אחלה מסעדה, תאילנדית ברמה גבוהה ולא יקרה. מומלץ

I highly recommend this restaurant for those who are looking for a very chic and inexpensive Thai/Japanese restaurant that's located close to the theater district. Rarely I have been impressed with both the decor and food. Great place for a first date or special occasion....More

OBAO is a restaurant located in Hell's Kitchen. I absolutely loved the atmosphere there. The restaurant is dimly lit with beautiful hanging lanterns. The food was delicious, however a little bit pricey. It was a vietnamese-asian fusion type menu with a ton of options. I...More

The food was absolutely amazing. I still give 2* rating for the following reason : 1. We were a party of 10. When we were ready to be seated, they told us there was a minimum $35 policy. It was insulting. They should have had...More

Ambience: while the interiors look like any Asian fast food restaurant, the difference is the music that plays contemporary soft rock putting you in the perfect dining mood. Food: Basil fried rice is really great. Order this with any of the sides. Duck red curry...More
