I've had wonderful meals here before but this wasn't one of them. They were busy on a weeknight. The appetizers came out 45 minutes apart - making it rude to eat while the other person sits. Three times they went to check and never came back. The waiters don't seem to take meal delivery responsibility at all. I usually get... More

I love Nobu 57. I was taken to this restaurant on a date. It was perfect, the restaurant has great ambiance and I had a wonderful time. We shared the black cod which is very delicious. The cod is wrapped in lettuce and the flavors will knock your socks off. The sushi was one of the top in Manhattan. The... More

Not a place for everyone, main dishes may cost more than 40 dollars and they might not be enough to satisfy your hunger, but for wat concerns taste Nobu is a piece of work. The restaurant itself is very beautiful and staff members are really nice. If you don't care about spending 70-90 dollars for a single person dinner, you... More

Loved the miso black cod and the fried rock shrimp. Also had a variety of nigiri, but it was very pricy. I was on business and a vendor took me there!

Food was amazing, otoro sashimi and black cod to die for. Ask for fresh wasabi totally worth it. Nobu house sake is amazing also. Always coming back Lobster sushi sucks, my own fault :)

The food here is fine but nothing special. Service on the other hand was terrible. Very slow and inattentive. The waitress even had the cheek to ask for a gratuity when none was left. Perhaps the sister restaurants are better than this. I would avoid.

I have to say that this has to be the singularly most delicious Japanese food I have ever put in my mouth, and I've been Japan! The lobster was so good, I wish I didn't have to share it. I could cry just thinking about how good everything tasted. I also recommend the mini lobster tacos. The dessert was also... More

Clearly, Nobu is famous for a reason. Incredible dining experience. People say it is expensive; however, if you do it right there is a way to make it extremely reasonable. This is on my must try list. If you are visiting New York and want more of an authentic restaurant, maybe don't try here. It's a little Gossip Girl-esque which... More

This is the second time in two years that we have visited Nobu 57 with guests. All agree that this is incredibly fine Japanese restaurant serving both new style and traditional Japanese food. The menu is extensive and varied. One of our guests was not fond of Japanese food, but at the end of the evening he admitted that the... More

There are so many good dishes on the menu...and I am yet to be disappointed with any of them...no matter where I've eaten. The highlight for me is always the Black Miso Cod...the flavours and texture are amazing.

The first uptown New York location by legendary chef Nobu Matsuhisa, opened to much anticipation in the summer of 2005. Nobu's co-owners are his longtime partners: renowned restaurateur Drew Nieporent, Oscar-winning actor Robert De Niro, and producer Meir Teper. The restaurant showcases Nobu's signature New Style Japanese cuisine with classic dishes such as Yellowtail Sashimi with Jalapeno and Black Cod Miso, and new creations from the wood burning oven and the hibachi table.

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
