Stopped here after a Broadway show. What a delight! Felt like being back in Flemish Belgium. Great beer, mussels, fries (frites), lots of atmosphere. Very friendly service.

We were walking down West 43rd from one diner to another (the first was too crowded and had a long wait, so the host recommended another) when we happened upon BXL Cafe. We almost walked right past it because it appears to be a bar or tavern. Fortunately, the awning says waffles (among other things). There was also a brunch... More

Quite by surprise we found this delightful spot, unexpectedly just a stone's throw from Times Square. Nothing touristy about it. Offers a taste of Belgium in a decidedly European flavor. A great brunch menu, bar menu, and a tasteful range for dinner too. We arrived at brunch time and among the four of us had a little bit of breakfast... More

This Brussles style gem off of TIme Square is amazing. On Sunday and Monday they offer all you can eat muscles. They are small but tasty. I was able to get 3 different kinds of muscles before I was too full. There are at least 6 sauces to choose from. My son got the carbonara and it was the best... More

Found by accident near hotel as daughter wanted waffles for breakfast. At first was hesitant as early and no one in but gave it a try and so glad we did. Best pancakes I ever had, light and fluffy despite having banana in them. Served with fruit and syrup and a huge portion that I struggled to finish but they... More

We stopped here before a concert. It was very busy but we lucked out and got a table quickly. The beers were amazing and we just had calamari but it was delicious and the dipping sauce made it even better. It's not cheap but nothing is in NYC.

We had dinner with our two small children and although it was very busy the service was great and the food generous and tasty. We had a very generous serve of mussels which was delivered to our table promptly and our wine and water was always refreshed. If your kids don't like a lot of noise and hustle and bustle... More

I had dinner at BXL and I sat at the bar. I found the bartenders to be great and the regulars at the bar were a lot of fun. This is not a stuffy place, it was really fun. There was a special when I was there on mussels and Stella! Great deal.

The BXL Café is a popular & busy Belgian near the Theater district. It has an extensive selection of Belgian beers and a nice variety of mussels preparations. The menu has a limited number of entrees. The service is efficient & friendly.

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
