What more can you say about this place that hasn't already been said . The food atmosphere wine list are all one of the best in the city. If you want perfection go here . People think it's easy to execute what some would consider simple food . It's anything but simple to cook a perfect steak, shrimp cocktail and... More

It's FAR from the being a top NYC steakhouse. Service there was sub-par and the food is underwhelming: 1. I had a brown stain on my fork 2. almost 30min between each course meal 3. steak dish is just the steak alone that's barely seasoned and sent to you in the wrong temp (I asked for med rare, I got... This past Sunday evening, three colleagues and I dined at S&W for what we thought would be a relaxing dining experience, combined with great service and great food. We did not receive either. The waiter was disinterested, did not complete our requested order, and did not seem compelled to check in. The food was average. Mashed Potatoes that resembled pudding,... More

In town for the weekend and wanted to go to my go-to steakhouse. This place never disappoints. Went around 9 on a sat night. No rsvp. And seated us. Service was great as always. Quality steaks all around. Great to take ppl that haven't been here as well. There's nostalgia all around this old steakhouse. When in doubt for dinner........ More

Okay, I was really expecting to love this place. The building is awesome, it was really really busy on a Tuesday night in the winter.and it has been around for quite a while. Let's start with the $15 old-fashioned. He didn't put a cherry it! No muddling at all. What the hell. I had to ask for a cherry which... More

Our service was great and we love the bar area. The food was not as good as expected. My steak was cooked properly but not very flavorful and my husband steak was ordered medium but came out rare and was not tender or flavorful. I was expecting more from a "world-class Steakhouse."

It’s Friday, and we all met (2 couples) at Smith & Wollensky for lunch. The food was excellent and for the first time the waiter was below expectations. Despite the waiter, the food and drinks were terrific. In fact the food and drinks are always terrific at Smith & Wollensky . This was the only time I remember below expectations... More

This is my second time there, and both time I have been disappointed. Not that it is bad, but certainly for me not one of the best steak house. This time I had the colorado rib eye, a beautiful piece of meat, but came short on texture and taste. With a medium range bottle of red, dinner for two without... More

Few classic restaurants in the US have professional and competent waiters and this place is one of these. The service was superior, thanks to very attentive waiters, who can talk about the dishes and entertain the customer, as usual in Europe. The steaks were cooked to perfection. I recommend as well creamed spinach as a side and the carrot cake... More

One of America's most successful restaurants, this New York steakhouse opened in 1977 and has been a hit ever since.

It is one of the most trafficked restaurants in New York City and among the most celebrated steakhouses in the world. Specializing in fresh seafood and lobster and assorted steaks and chops, Smith & Wollensky is well recognized for its healthy portions, seasoned service staff and pop Americana ambience.

The painted wood exterior is dark forest green trim on sparkling white, with latticework trim. The elegant interior has turn-of-the-century appeal and design elements including shining brass, dark wood accents and polished wood floors.

Adjacent to Smith & Wollensky's is Wollensky's Grill. The Grill (entrance on 49th St) is open from 11:30AM till 2:00AM but does not accept reservations.
