Chanced upon this open fronted restaurant while wandering Chinatown. Selected the set lunch menu - although the dishes did not come in the order of the menu - and was not disappointed - good quality food and a small wine selection at decent prices

Good quality food. Several dishes for $7.95 good for kids. Very clean. Cute inside. Fast service. Food could have a little more flavor, but overall very good and friendly staff.

After an adrenalin-filled helicopter sightseeing trip we wandered back through Chinatown and came across the Shanghai Cuisine restaurant. A nice, busy restaurant, the staff were friendly, chatty and professional. We were served promptly and the food was excellent - would thoroughly recommend this as a place to visit

We were in Chinatown for the Chinese Lunar Year Parade so the area was packed solid! After being on our feet for hours we found this restaurant completely by taking a wrong turn. Glad we did. The menu is typical Chinese but most of the customers had dim sum on their table so that's what I decided to order. My... More

Found this restaurant by chance when walking down the streets of Chinatown towards Little Italy. They serve high quality Chinese dishes, not too expensive, clean, fast service, speak good English. Recommended.

Stumbled across this little gem in China town! Warm welcome, excellent Dim Sum menu, delicious & washed down with an unusually fine glass of house red wine at a reasonable price. Would definitely re-visit.

The service was wonderful and the staff were cheerful. The dishes were a little different than what I am used to, but I did enjoy my 'hot' chicken dish. I do wish that the pork dumplings were a bit larger, however. This place is certainly worth a visit. Interesting that the waiter uniforms were red plaid flannel. That made the... More

I visited Chinatown to get something inexpensive to eat during the holiday in New York City. I ordered one bowl of noodles that I did not remember the name but it included pork, chicken and even shrimp with vegetable. It was such a huge bowl that I got full just by looking at it. It tastes okay with the price... More

Incredibly place. The food was tasty and delicious. The atmosphere more than warm, and Monica charming and kind. Definitively an authentic Chinese restaurant in the very heart of Chinatown.

Staying in Chinatown

Neighbourhood Profile
Bursting with an amazing array of sights, sounds, and smells on every block, a visit to Chinatown feels like entering a different world. It’s a colorful spectacle that gets even more crowded on weekends, when families stream in to enjoy huge dim sum feasts and to stock up at the markets on Mott Street. To take a break from the buzz, grab something sweet from one of the many bakeries in the area and head to Columbus Park, where many Chinatown residents exercise, play games, and chat the day away.
