Went here for a treat afternoon tea. Had the regular one and a champagne one. Fine selection of savories and cakes. Service functional, but the room could do with a refresh and the lighting is very unflattering!

We were a little worried about choosing the Plaza for our afternoon tea given that it is a favorite of tourists but we LOVED it! My mother had the New Yorker and I had the Champagne tea with a glass of champagne and caviar. Lovely....More

Had wanted to experience afternoon tea here for a while and felt a joint celebration of birthday and an anniversary would be perfect. We had had afternoon tea at claridges in the U.K a few months before and wanted to compare. There is no comparison!...More

If you are visiting New York and want to see the Plaza, drop by for a drink. But DO NOT waste your money on their afternoon tea. The service was excellent but the food was terrible (soggy sandwiches, stale bread, runny jam and meager portions...More

First, let me say that it is very expensive. But, if you go to an afternoon tea, you have to know that what you get are little sandwiches, scones and little desserts and you are paying for relaxation, atmosphere and being waited on. It isn't...More

I took my family here as my kids where very keen to visit the plaza. I felt the staff were far too pretentious. Food was very poor, service poor and far too expensive.

Ok... picture this Christmas in New York with various family members meeting up. Naturally we wanted to do something extra-ordinary. After MUCH research we decided on The Palm Court cafe in The Plaza Hotel for Christmas Eve dinner. After all it is the Plaza, so...More

I think this was the worst Afternoon Tea I have ever had. Dry sandwiches and Wet pastries, it was like eating leftovers from a wedding. We had to go and look for the wait staff twice who were hiding out the back chit chatting. This...More

There simply could not be a lovelier spot for afternoon tea. My 3 children and I enjoyed it immensely. Portions were extremely generous: ~6 tea sandwiches, ~6 desserts, 2 scones, and a full pot of tea per person. We could have easily split 1 person's...More

Description
Geoffrey Zakarian has re-launched the iconic Palm Court at The PLAZA HOTEL with a complete renovation helmed by Master Architect Thierry Despont. Zakarian showcases classic American menus from morning to evening, and while staying true to its original design intent, Despont has brought the grand feeling of Central Park indoors, with garden elements such as caning, large potted plants, four soaring palm trees and an oval trellised bar anchoring the room, creating an ambience that feels warm, private and glamorous. Bespoke furnishings provide a relaxed, yet elegant setting well-suited for either a professional breakfast meeting or an evening of cocktails crafted by mixologist Brian Van Flandern. Afternoon Tea truly shines as well with custom tableware and china, a tea list with worldly depth, and of course, a bit of Eloise too. This elegant room marked with its stained glass dome and impressive height adds a touch of old New York to a very polished and modern sense of hospitality
