My friend Scott, who lives in NYC, had been pondering over the ideal lunch spot for 2 days. When he mentioned Yakitori I immediately knew this was the place to go, and they did not disappoint! We got a table right away and what a treat. We had 7 different skewers each and each one of them was top notch!... More

Ate twice here in the week -essentially the menu is lots of skewers with various chicken and veg -all cooked to perfection and so so tasty The food comes out quite randomly d we all shafted as but it felt like a good heathy way to eat after the burger and pizza fest we had the rest of the week... A friend of mine brought me here in May, as I never had any non-sushi Japanese food yet, at that time. The food is lovely, we tried several yakitori, all of them extremely good. A month ago I was in Japan and I can say it's the same taste and same quality. Recommended

Excellent little restaurant specialised in yakitoris, with friendly staff, nice decor but mainly what is important is the quality of food. Yakitoris are delicious and made in front of you. Highly recommended.

Excellent Japanese food, the beef, chicken wrapped in green peppers, the lamb chops, the goza, dumplings, mushrooms, eggplant, and pork were excellent!!!!, only the plain regular chicken in yakitori was tasteless.

This is a special restaurant in New York City, it is been open for 15 years and while the neighborhood gets better and better all around, this small enclave on the 2nd floor is such a treasure. There's delicious sashimi that is remarkably fresh and a generous portion that you can get in anticipation of all the wonderful grilled foods... More

For excellent Japanese food (beyond sushi) in a small, cozy and intimate atmosphere, you can't go wrong. We sampled a bunch of the chicken and vegetable and seafood dishes. The silver fish were delicious, as was the chicken liver. Everything else was solid. Very good but not the best I've had (that would be Ippuku in Berkeley).

Trying to find some place open till late we stumbled upon this izakaya type of yakitoriya. Portions were really small for the most part but tasty, exception to the unaju which I'll talk about more later. Skewers were around U$3,00 to U$3,50 and tiny. I have worked for several Japanese restaurants as a chef and I had not seen skewers... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
