Stopped in for lunch when we couldn't find the restaurant we were actually looking for. It turned out to be a good thing. Friendly service, tasty sandwiches (we had the curry chicken and the hot roast beef) and great coffee. We stopped in later and...More

We were hungry for a bite before touring the Tenement Museum and happened upon Little Giant. My two kids are picky eaters, but also good sports so we sat down for brunch. The room is small but decorated with a modern but fun aesthetic. Service...More

Down Orchard Street from the Tenement Museum in once immigrant/grunge Lower East Side of Manhattan, Little Giant serves immaginative food and drink in a renovated early 20th century store front. Food is fresh, atmosphere relaxing, if cramped, service is friendly but understaffed.

Ate lunch here on a Friday. Even thoug it wasn't busy, the service was SLOW (not just food but drinks as well, even salt and pepper). Our server could best be described as a notch above surly. My salad consisted of canned tuna in some...More

Really enjoyed the figs/cheese/pancetta "nibbles" as well as the attentive service. Good wine selection. Scallops had a great flavor and so fragrant with the concord grapes. I have a silly complaint. I did not like the Boylan Tonic water in my vodka tonic, that's it....More

When I eat at Little Giant, I feel like I'm at home. The food is so comforting and the atmosphere is just cozy and warm. Although the menu changes, i highly recommend the short rib entree or duck club and the deviled egg appetizer. Also...More

The food is the main attraction at this Lower East Side restaurant. The menu features some well prepared, seasonally adjusted fish, pork, and meat dishes, which are well served and generous in their portions. The pork with fennel and the roasted skate are both delicate,...More

Nice sandwich shop, good sandwich, slightly expensive with bit of a wait.

Refined comfort food finds a cozy home at this charming LES kitchen serving Seasonal American belly-filling goodness. Recommend the Trucker's Breakfast (soft-scrambled eggs, hand-sliced slab bacon, andouille sausage, wild mushrooms, & tomato gravy all atop grilled texas toast; side of housemade molasses baked beans). $$

Had dinner here this past Saturday and loved it! Try the baby lamb chops and the brik au thon. The restaurant is very pretty and the service was very friendly.

Description
Nestled in a turn-of-the-century tenement house on Manhattan’s Lower East Side, Little Giant has become a local favorite for “belly-filling goodness” for dinner & brunch since opening in 2004.

Chef Julie Taras Wallach’s ingredient-focused menus feature refined comfort food; upscale riffs on homespun standards.

Beverage Director Tasha Garcia Gibson’s wine and cocktail lists mirror the food, maintaining the thought that less is more.

In the kitchen and behind the bar, Little Giant seasonally seeks out small, artisan producers and farmers from the New York area & beyond. The inviting 32-seat dining room feels like a warm, cozy extension of home – but with a friendly, knowledgeable staff!

Our full menu is available at the bar, making it a perfect spot to grab a drink, snack or an entire meal. We also have seasonal outdoor seating.

Reservations are accepted for dinner, lunch and weekend brunch.
