Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I was completely let down. The service was ok but not great. it took quite a while to get the waiter to arrange the bill. The sandwich was average, in fact dissapointing but they charged a top line price. Go somewhere else if you want...good affordable food.More

I just wanted the sandwich. For the $27, I expected a good sized sandwich. What a let down. The bread was very soft, not a heart rye. The sandwich was small. I went back to make sure that it was.the.regular sandwich. The flavor was ok....After all these years...what a complete let down. For the money. I.could have had a sandwich and gotten a bottle if.wine or .so disappointedMore

The pastrami was just meh, which was very surprising to us. There are only a few tables for two and the place is very small. The bathroom is barely the size of one on an airplane. This place was recommended but we would not recommend...it and would never return. $25 for a minuscule sandwich which was more fatty than meat. Extremely disappointing.More

Pastrami Queen was everything I thought it was going to be. The moment I walked through the doors I could feel the excellence and I knew I was in for a good meal. We were greeted by a man who I assumed was the owner....We were seated at the table right by the deli. You could smell the aroma of the soup, meat, and desserts. There’s no better smell in this world than fresh well made food. I ordered the motza ball soup and 1/2 a pastrami sandwich. It was one the best sandwiches I’ve ever had. The soup was delicious as well. The experience was amazing I will be returning to eat again one day.More

Nice little gem. Very small but wasn't busy so relaxing, quiet, friendly atmosphere. Close to metro stop and short walk to MET. Don't pass this up without giving it a try. Every bit as good and probably better than the over hyped and over crowded...Katz. This just maybe not be as well known. So shhhh,,,keep the secret ;)More

My favorite NY Pastrami! The sandwiches are meant to be eaten and enjoyed — not piled high for show or optics. Absolutely delicious. It’ll always be my go-to!

Really tasteful pastrami sandwich and you have the chance to order the “junior version” - half size and half price of the full version. Excellent pickles served with the pastrami.

Good for “Deli” in this neighborhood. Ate early Sunday afternoon with family. All you need for this type of food. Corned beef, pastrami, and so on. The UWS branch a smaller one with only about 12 tables and I’ll when we were there only one...server. Prices are pretty reasonable compare to others. It’s missing some of the environment and craziness of the well known delis in other areas. Everything was delicious.More

Great pastrami, some may say even better that Katz’s, definitely less crowded, nice and genuine staff, been there on our last day in NY right before heading to the airport. We felt really welcome.

We came here because of Anthony Bourdain’s review, and of course he was right. Staff were helpful and patient with us. Pastrami was the best I’ve ever had. Potato knish was my first one, and it was great! So good, and better than Katz’s

Mid afternoon only customer, everything looked fresh ready for an after work rush Just happened to be walking by. An earlier trying for a deli sandwich got good chicken soup and a forgettable sandwich Meandering around time square did not come across any place eye...catching Then when not looking came across the Pastrami Queen sign in the window! Enjoying my meal heard Hava Nageela begin playing 😻 Adding to the authenticity and flavor of this sandwich experience!More

Each day is different when it might come to lunch. Having just left the MET Museum we decided to go to a good kosher deli. We knew one in the area but today decided to try something new, So we went inside the Pastrami Queen....It was nice and small when we walked in. It was also empty. I was about 12:20p and we decided to sit at one of the few tables and order something to eat. Our assistant was a kind gentleman who brought us the menus to take a look. It was easy to decide. You could smell the flavors as soon as you walked inside. And being traditional we went in that route. There was a special of Half a Sandwich and a bowl of Matzo Ball Soup. It is a flavor we always enjoy. We also ordered a complete sandwich of Pastrami on Rye. They brought out the soup first. It was a good size Matzo Ball. The soup was fresh chicken flavor. Inside the mix was some carrots and noodles. The bowl was large. You could have a meal itself with this. It was also nice and warm. Truly fresh and traditional in flavor. Something you might have grown up with. As for the Pastrami Sandwich in fresh Rye bread this is as you would imagine and expect. It was a good portion of lean pastrami. It was slightly thin and slightly warm to the touch. The flavor was ideal. For some we do put on some mustard. I use Russian Dressing on it for an extra touch I have always had with this. It is served with the three levels of pickles. Your choice. I ate all three. To compliment what we had we naturally ordered our Dr. Browns Cream Sodas. It is what you need to have with the Pastrami Sandwich. It is what to expect. Interestingly there are only about 8 tables. Each with only 2 seats. We were the first in there. By the time we finished we saw 4 tables taken but a line of take-out orders. One person was doing both lunch and dinner to order. This is a good place. The prices are correct for what you receive. It is a traditional kosher deli. It has what you expect. This is not a mix of different items. It is what you would expect from this type of deli. I will definitely go back.More

Have been going there for years. Generally was good and was a good value exchange even at $16. Unfortunately that is no longer the case. Pastrami was dry and lacking the usual flavor-- nothing to rate it highly, And for about $27 for a sandwich...I will not return. The quality went down and they raised the price about 50%. A bad combination. Unfortunately, another NYC institution that is no longer what it used to be. Save your money and try elsewhere.More
