Went as a family, pretty early in the day, on our first day of the visit to NYC. Friendly waitstaff and large portions. Really, too large. I had the fajita, and wish that they had a small size option. My 15 year old daughter had the quesadilla appetizer and that was the perfect size for a meal. The fish and... More

The Pig and Whistle is your very typical Irish bar in New York. Really good though. Big choice of wines and beers. Bar food menu also is good. Average bar food like burgers and wings but so nice, freshly cooked. Staff in there are very friendly too. A little expensive but most places in New York are.

Last night in NY with the family, accidentally went to 59th and Lexington subway instead of 53rd and Lexington. Stopped here in a pouring rainstorm on the way home. Place was packed and seemed loud but we were hungry so we went in with our 3 kids. They stashed us at a booth in the back that was in its... More

Great atmosphere and friendly staff. Good selection of both local NY and foreign beers. The food was good. I had the steak sandwich - recommended! Tasty and spicy. Definitely worth a visit!

Stick with Guinness, otherwise the choices are rather disappointing. 80's music. We ordered Nachos-----go figure!

Service was ok, place was clean. Broken barstool, no place to put foot - no doubt management knew it had been broken for some time. Draft beer good, clean taps, good selection, typical NYC prices. No complimentary beverage(s)... Food was just OK. Definitely NOT one of the better NYC Irish pubs for pub grub. In a pinch it will do,... More

When you've worked a long fourteen hour day and your feet are talking to you, all you want to do is take the weight off and let someone else dish up dinner and drinks to you. This is exactly what Idid just last week. The Pig and Whistle on Third Avenue is your atypical afterwork haunt. It has the promise... More

A few beers after the fantastic Macy's parade , a great place for drinks and food a little expensive which seems to be the norm in New York.but like most Irish bars an enjoyable atmosphere.
