The refurbished JoJo, with simple, elegant decor is much different from the old JoJo dining experience. The food remains excellent, as in all Jean-George restaurants, but the atmosphere, although very tasteful, left me uninspired as did the wait staff. True, they said they are having...More

Wonderful food at a recent dinner with family. The renovation has lightened the space and opened it up. One change is now loud music is played to help keep conversations private but it was a bit overwhelming. The music was quite good just too loud....More

The cod was so perfectly cooked that I had to order another one. The chef incorporated some Thai ingredients into the cook that made the dishes so fresh and unforgettable.

We hadn't been here in years and stopped in last month just before they closed for renovations. The interior was just as charming and romantic as it was 20 years ago, and is one of the few bargains left in the neighborhood. We ordered the...More

One of our favorite restaurants - delicious authentic French food at reasonable bistro prices without the haughty attitude. But you'll have to wait until they reopen. Btw - the famous chef is Jean George, may as well spell it correctly if you're going to comment...More

Description
JoJo offers relaxed yet elegant dining on two floors of a quaint, turn-of-the-century brownstone on the Upper East Side. The first of Jean-Georges’ restaurants in New York City, this neighborhood gem opened in 1991 to rave reviews. It was voted best new restaurant of the year by Esquire magazine and has retained its three-star status from the New York Times for 21 years. Regarding the name, JoJo was Chef Jean-Georges’ nickname as a young boy. Jojo is a hospitable setting for a casual dinner, special occasion, or private party. Guests can feel comfortable in jeans or in evening attire.
