Island Burgers and Shakes is a busy burger joint in New York that offers great burgers and sides,,, The sweet potato fries with bayou mayo dip (US$7.75) were awesome, and the portion was lrage. I also had a basic 'Build your Own' burger... Beef patty, American Cheddar, Mushrooms in a sesame bun (US$12.95). This was not the bestest burger I've... More

This was the best reviewed burger place near my hotel. It's no more than 10 minutes walk from Times Square. I showed up here alone and asked to sit at the bar, the waitress was so friendly and welcoming and the burger was great. Such a friendly place and such great burgers, I'll be back.

We visited after going to Wicked. Quick walk from there. The waiter (manager?) was very friendly, competent, kind. Food was delicious. We had hamburger, tomato mozzarella sandwich, fries and chocolate malt. All excellent. Clean restaurant. Bathrooms available. Lots of good looking restaurants nearby. Service was fast. No waiting for table on a Tuesday at 10 pm. There was a local... More

Excellent spot for a casual burger. They have build-your-own as well as some named burgers. There is an option for chicken or even salads for those avoiding beef -- but we have no idea how those taste. A side of fries was enough for two people. Several good choices for beer on tap. Typical rather narrow restaurant. This is a... More

Since we were spending the day in NYC, my friend and I opted for a local place with a good reputation. This restaurant is located in the Hell's Kitchen area. The building is so small that we actually walked by it at first. When we walked in, I was glad we were only a party of two. There are 11... More

Came here on the last night of our trip as we fancied something filling and tasty and we were not disappointed. Decided to build my own burger and it was amazing. We were told on arrival there was a problem with the card machine that night but not an issue to us. Greeted with glass of water and then had... More

The staff were very helpful explaining there would be about a 15 minute wait for a table. We were constantly updated and the wait was indeed no longer than 15 minutes. As we were visiting from the UK we wanted to experience local places to eat as opposed to large international chains. I shared a mushroom burger with my daughter... More

Way better than a shake shack burger people rave over. These burgers are thick and juicy and come in an array of toping flavours or make your own. The fries are huge though. You can ask for a half order of fries which isn't on the menu. Very small place so go during off dining times to get a seat.

Very tiny place in Hell's kitchen that does one type of food and does it well. You can get burgers, chicken or portabella mushrooms prepared in unique ways or make your own. All ingedients were fresh and you can order from plain to spicy, I chose spicy which was flavorful and just the right amount of heat with the blackened... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
