Let's start with the guy who ropes people in to eat. He act like he cares, but he does not. He will literally stop talking to tables half way through a sentence to go try and get someone off the street to come in. He...More

If it wasn't for the Groupon offer, I wouldn't eat here. Or any other place on Mulberry. Why do you need street hustlers trying to get you to eat? There are way better Italian restaurants elsewhere. Total cost of coupon + check was $80 of...More

We met old friends in Little Italy, and walked in to Umberto's. The food was nothing special, and expensive. First drinks on the house.

If you are looking for a "Taste of Italy" then this is the place to visit. We were enticed in by the offering of free Sangria. The food was great and reasonably priced. The atmosphere was fun.

Bobs Sera! We dined & Umbertos Clam House in Little Italy on a slow, uncrowded, rainy Mon night. Became famous in the 70's as a result of a 1970's Mob Shoot out in front of Restaurant. Now, it's Very Safe! Manja!! Hot Anipasto was Delish....More

Just walk down Mulberry street and you can't help coming across an Italian restaurant every 10 or 30 feet with a host outside encouraging you to sit and eat at their restaurant. Whether it's Tommy or Johnny you honestly can't go wrong because just about...More

Little Italy
While Little Italy is one of the city's smallest
neighbourhoods, its streets are packed with visitors
from around the globe, especially on summer weekends
when the streets are closed to traffic. Stroll up
Mulberry Street, the heart of Little Italy, for a
dense mix of Italian restaurants with sidewalk tables,
cafes, and old-school food shops. Don’t be surprised
when the hosts beckon you to pay them a visit. Stop in

A reservation wouldn't be a bad idea, although when we went (midweek) the restaurant was sparsely attended. Dress? Casual is fine.

We specialize in seafood and are the only ones in Little Italy to do so. Many of our dishes have become famous since our opening in 1972. Our menu features our legendary Hot Red Clam Sauce which is simmered to perfection for hours just as it was the first day we opened. Be sure to enjoy our Baked Clams (best in the world), Linguine with White Clam Sauce, Veal Saltimbocca Alla Romana, Chicken Scarpariello and Calimari. We have also added many new exciting dishes such as Short Rib Ragu over Penne, Spiedini a la Romano and more. Umbertos is a special treat for all who come. Our signature open kitchen and custom built wood bar are signature attractions. Our unpretentious flair and professional service combined with the freshest, most authentic product possible, all at reasonable prices, keep our customers satisfied and coming back for more.
