Had a very lovely lunch at Red Cat. The bloody mary was great, appetizer of broccoli 3 ways was yummy and the Spanish torta was a great choice. Companion had the chicken paillard and enjoyed it too. Service was very good.

Four of us enjoyed a great dinner here, despite a busy Saturday night. Early for our reservation, we were invited to the bar and treated like regulars, though it was first time for 3 of the 4 of us. Two female bartenders are real pros who now how to mix a real drink. At dinner, duck breast was best I've... More

We had lunch at this restaurant during Restaurant Week. We had the Shrimp Tacos and it was excellent! Nice set-up, good service this place suits well for business lunch. Tartare was very good and we loved the chocolate desert. Highly recommended!

Walked over from Chelsea Piers for a quick business lunch. We were seated quickly in a nearly empty dining room at 11:45. When we left two delicious burgers later at 12:30, the place was getting busy with a local crowd who knows this place is reliably solid across all the key areas of mid-range dining.

There are many very good reviews of the Red Cat for good reason. This is a comfortable place that takes you out of the NYC rush. We felt that our waitress in the back room did an amazing job of managing all of us in her room. She was caring and friendly. Our meals were very good. The cuisine is... More

There are hundreds of great restaurants in NYC. On every street and neighborhood nook, you'll find one of those awesome 'locals only' restaurants that has incredible food, great atmosphere and impeccable service. Red Cat is one of those places. I've dined there over 7 years and always had a great experience. Located in Chelsea on the lower West Side, the... More

Just the right amount of variety on the menu-- choices while maintaining focus. If you are looking for terrific vegetarian dishes that aren't your run-of-the-mill salads or roasted asparagus, there are some wonderful options here like the zucchini starter and the roasted brussels sprouts. The menu and the cocktails are New York City pricey-- expensive, but not beyond the pale.... More

When I am in New York City I want a dining experience. This restaurant is as mediocre as I have experienced and our server could not have cared less. The wait staff and the kitchen are on two different pages. I rate this a solid C-, and that is after spending $200.00 for two people.

Description
This Old Chelsea food hall is a New York original. The Red Cat's combination of come-as-you-are sensibilities and straightforward, satisfying, and occasionally irreverent cuisine instantly establish the restaurant as a favorite with New York diners. As Frank Bruni wrote in the New York Times, "The Red Cat feels vaguely colonial and tavern like, except when it feels downtown-gallery cool, and apart from those moments when it feels modestly and eclectically elegant." If you are unable to book online, please call us directly and we will do our best to accommodate you.
