Very nice restaurant with great service and good food. Everything we ate was so good, the kale salad, the grilled avocado ( loved it ! ) , the egg salad sandwich, the tuna salad sandwich and the burgers.... just perfect! Thank you

Met friends there for Brunch on a recent August Sunday. Since there were 6 in our party, we were able to make a reservation. Good thing because they were pretty busy when we got there. We were seated downstairs, which is a cool space with arches and lots of exposed brick. It does get a little warmer down below because... More

Great time and food at Blue Ribbon. Sat downstairs near the brick oven, which is a very different ambiance than upstairs, although both are appealing in their own ways. While all of our meals were excellent, don't pass on the fresh bread and if you are lucky you can take a loaf home with you.

I came here alone as I made my way from one shopping destination to another. It was pretty quiet as is was a Monday afternoon. The service was good and the lunch special- fish sandwich and salad- really hit the spot.

This place! These people! The food! There's a hidden dining room tucked away downstairs, right across from where they bake breads and tasty treats. Perfect and cozy for a group of 10. The staff is helpful and accommodating. Easy to get to -- there's a trainstop right around the corner.

Blue Ribbon Bakery Kitchen is a West Village neighborhood favorite and destination restaurant. Restaurateurs Bruce and Eric Bromberg discovered in 1995 a 140 year-old wood burning brick oven and lovingly restored it and built Blue Ribbon Bakery Kitchen around it. We now proudly operate the only existing wood fired brick bread oven in New York City using methods learned from our time at Poilane Bakery in France, including challah, matzoh, and classic french baguettes. Our menu is eclectic and varied. Menu highlights include our award-winning Fried Chicken, Grilled Lamb Chops, Beef Marrow, locally caught fish and whole roasted pasture-to-table animals prepared in our brick oven, as well as a broad offering of lighter fare. At the heart of each Blue Ribbon Bakery experience is the wood-burning oven that sends the smell of freshly baked bread throughout the dining room. Don’t leave without walking downstairs to see the bakers in action.

Neighbourhood Profile
West Village
Stretching from Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River, the West Village is one of the city’s most coveted addresses. Full of trendy shops, historic taverns, and cozy restaurants set amid 19th century architecture, this neighbourhood has a unique old-world feel. You won’t find a more picturesque location in Manhattan. Without the traditional city grid layout, it’s easy to get lost here, but that’s part of the fun as you stroll down elegant narrow streets with beautiful brownstones. When you need a break, you can always stop in at one of the many quaint eateries or cafes to soak in the atmosphere, or head to the western edge of the neighborhood to enjoy magnificent waterfront views while taking a leisurely walk in Hudson River Park.
