First time at Sophie's on 68th street in NYC. Grab a quick lunch...rice and beans and a chicken empanada. Delish! Hope to try again soon when in NYC.

We had lunch here at this busiest time of day, had one young guy running around after dozens of tables. Food took a while but it was worth the wait for sure.

Loved it. It's a simple atmosphere, but it has tableservice, or take out service. The food was absolutely delicious. I would return here in a heartbeat. And I wish I could. But I don't live in New York. The empanadas are amazing, but the Cuban sandwich, was out of this world

Generous portions of well-prepared simple dishes, like baked chicken, fried plantains, rice and beans. Table service, but the most basic you can imagine. Fast!

The arroz con pollo and maduros were as good as I ate in Cuba! I didn't give it 5 stars because it was a little dirty and the service wasn't all that great. Still, I would go back, especially since you can get in and out quickly for lunch during the week.

I like to try different cubanos when I have the chance. This one was pretty good, but when I combined it with their green sauce it became AMAZING. The fried plantains (maduros) were good. I'll probably come back when I'm in NYC for business again.

Great sandwiches at reasonable prices. Make sure you get the spicy green sauce for your meal. The maduros looked excellent too.

I always like trying different foods and found a place that serves good Cuban food. I enjoyed the pernil with rice and beans this time around but everything I've tried at this place is pretty good.

I stop by Sophies once every couple weeks for their steak and onions. Please dont expect it to be a "steak" though. It's more of a not lean piece of thinly sliced meat. While the steak is not top notch, i think of it as a vessel for the onions and the green sauce which will make a brick taste... More

I had hear rave reviews of this joint, but maybe I caught it on an off day, I had the chicken and black beans, I didn't think the food was that great. I've eaten at Guantanamera as well as some Cuban restaurants in Hoboken that were MUCH better than this place. The service at lunchtime is abysmal and there are... More
