We discovered this historic restaurant 4 years ago and visit every time we are in New York (2-3 times a year). Dim, candles, flowers on table, some original hand blown glass on windows and doors, we feel we stepped back in time. Piano player has...More

Beautiful building with lots of history. Service was great, particularly the Maitre D. Downside is that food was only fair, and at $100 prix fixe, was disappointing. Most of the group asked for salt and pepper to add some flavor to the food. Beef Wellington...More

Enjoyed an evening at One if by Land, Two if by Sea in February. The ambiance is charming, with a colonial Boston theme - candlelight, roses, a pianist and roaring fire. Meals are pre-fix pricing, expensive yet scrumptious. A real, memorable treat for a special...More

Went there for a birthday celebration with my wife and sister and brother in laws. The seating was well spaced, not too close to others, the piano player was great, just the right volume, ad nice song selection. We had rib eye steak, Beef Wellington...More

The atmosphere is historic and romantic with an intimate and rustic bar. The food is OK, nothing spectacular. My wife and I had the tasting menu which had some very flavorful dishes, but also a few misses. This restaurant is very expensive, which does not...More

Went with my husband on Saturday 1/17/18, had reservations for 9:15pm, got there at 9pm, was kept waiting for over an hour at the bar, but everyone else that came in after me got a table, we left. I guess because we were not white,...More

Let’s face it: you’re there because of the name. The cuisine is not the best you’ve had, although is good. I think for what you actually get is too much to ask for a $100 prix fix in which you’re stuck with no options of...More

Really beautiful place, good service and good food. Their seafood and Beef Wellington are can't miss menu items.

I always base my reviews on value. If a restaurant charges a premium price, I'm much more critical as to be expected. Since the minimum price is $100 prix fixe per person, drinks and sides are extra, this review is written with the expectation of...More

We stumbled upon this place and decided to book a celebration dinner during our stay in NYC, we weren't disappointed. While the restaurant was originally Aaron Burr's carriage house it's gone through a number of reincarnations, the restaurant is beautiful inside and as was appropriately...More

West Village
Stretching from Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River, the
West Village is one of the city’s most coveted
addresses. Full of trendy shops, historic taverns, and
cozy restaurants set amid 19th century architecture,
this neighbourhood has a unique old-world feel. You
won’t find a more picturesque location in Manhattan.
Without the traditional city grid layout, it’s easy to
get lost here, but that’s part of the fun as you

Absolutely not. Any decent casual look is fine. The days of formal dress for restaurants in New York is almost extinct. Don't be a pig, but wear what you would wear to a Broadway show or to church or synagogue. We... More

There are 3pre fixe menus (holidays may be different) one is 95.00 and one is 120 & 160. We did the 95.00 option.

I did not ask about that. I would imagine they do. The beef Wellington does have a nice crust that I don't believe could be done as well if gluten free. We live at home 90% gluten free but when out we choose to not focus... More
