Needed to bring staff to lunch close to the office and decided on Fraunces Tavern. A first glance you get the appearance that the place is run down. But then you realize that this is an historic place and the building and all of the furnishings are true to its era. They have a decent menu, with some interesting options.... More

Fraunces Tavern is like 5 taverns and eateries in one building. Great cocktails, huge beer selection and a big variety of food. Great feeling being in this historic spot.

So it was a sideways rainy, snowy, cold day and we stopped inside just as they opened... and 5 hours later we were still there. It was on our "list" of things to see and Fraunces definitely did not disappoint. This place oozes character, so may little rooms. Each with different themes, and the staff was awesome. We ate, took... More

It is a historic landmark and combines museum with good Irish-English restaurant. Brunch comes with two mimosas included. Very good coffee. Service is a bit slow.

To start with, this historic building is the oldest in NY! So there is a museum upstairs that is absolutely worth the visit, very interesting, and informative with museums quality artifacts. General George Washington's farewell address to his troops was given here. Then, downstairs, there Is a number of great rooms to dine in. Some are cozy with oversized chairs... More

My sister in law insisted on showing me this historic tavern on a late Saturday night, and the history of the place was fascinating. We had drinks at the bar, and the service was very good.

We ducked into the Tavern to celebrate our anniversary, thrilled my the menu online and historic setting. We were seated near a (non working) fireplace, in a cozy nook of the room. Our server was delightful and eager to help - she ran the room like clockwork. The traditional fare was on point: bacon wrapped dates (George Washington's Horseback) melted... More

This is hands down one of the best restaurants I have eaten in. From the get go we were impressed (party of four). We waited only a few minutes to be seated, without reservations and the entry way is full of historical data from the Revolutionary period. The service was excellent. I order the salmon chowder, which I loved. The... More

Ducked in here to get warm and it delivered. Nice fireplace, good drinks and food. We had no reservations so we ate at the bar. Food was delicious and the bar tender was a hoot! Gave us good directions to get back uptown.
