We were in NY meeting up with friends we hiked the Inca Trail with, so of course, we had to go for Peruvian food. We made a reservation for 8 pm. Unfortunately, we were late, and they gave our table away- not a problem, as we were late. The hostess told us it would be about 15 minutes and we... More

This restaurant is out of our way. Nonetheless we have visited 3 times in 2016. The food has been always just delicious. My chicha morada, to die for. Our experience has been good at this restaurant. We have never feel the rush other restaurants put on. That is once you finish your lunch you must go. In our last visit... More

Was here on a Saturday afternoon with family, place was starting to fill up. Quick to seat us, staff is very friendly and fast. Ordered specialty drinks which were amazing. Ceviche was really good, we got 3 different kinds. Food was sizzeling hot!! Shrimp, beef and lamb dishes were all out of this world, paella too. Very nice place, ambiance... More

We often have dinner at Mancora prior to seeing a show at the Public Theater. Service is friendly and helpful. Everything we have eaten has been excellent. Our favorites appetizers are Pulpito A La Parrilla and Choritos Al Ajo; favorite entrees are Paella, Parrillada De Mariscos, Arroz Con Pato, Churrasco, Entrana A La Parrilla. They also have a tapas menu... More

Visited Mancora while in NYC, as I had a craving for some yummy ceviche... I'm sad to share that this experience was below average. The ceviche tasted old or as if it had been refrigerated too long. Almost as if it was going "bad" I'm not sure what dressing and marinade they use for anticuchos, but whatever they served was... More

We have been at this restaurant twice. The first time was on a Friday back in September 2015. Then, the food and drinks were very good. We recommended it to our friends. Our next experience was last week on Monday evening. This was a mediocre tasting meal. We ordered empanadas for apetizer. These were dry and tasted very old. For... More

Ceviche is da BOMB, fresh and interesting mix of flavors. Very good but not fantastic. THE PLACE IS SO LOUD YOU CANT TALK! This is a problem as I won't return if I need to communicate during dinner, guess that means I be going back with my wife.

Came with a large group pre-theatre. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Group raved about the delicious meal selections - all very fresh!

Staying in East Village

Neighbourhood Profile
East Village
There’s still an independent vibe to the East Village, which offers plenty of unique small businesses catering to longtime New Yorkers and area college students alike. The East Village retains a bit of the old-time neighbourhood feel that you can still experience today thanks to a mix of locally-owned shops, cozy restaurants, and lively bars. The scale of the residential blocks makes this a wonderful place to wander up and down the streets searching for the newest hip spot, or an old-school favorite. In the center of the neighbourhood, Tompkins Square Park serves as a gathering point for the New Yorkers that call the East Village home. The people-watching here is hard to beat.
