If you ever imagined eating only hot perfectly cooked French fries with a wide array of savory dips for lunch, dinner, or a snack, this hole-in-the-wall (or wandering the West Village with said street food in hand) is the place to do it!! Not every day fare, but a rare treat to be thoroughly enjoyed!!

Located in a cute town called Greenwich Village I found out about this place from a YouTube video and fell in love with the food place. So when my friends and I had the chance to visit NYC, we made sure to stop by Pommes Frites. I had the large fries with sauce on the fries. The Teriyaki sauce and... More

We visited yesterday, tricky to find but glad we did! Great chips, great sauces and at a good price, we had a regular portion each, this was almost too much for lunch. But I guess that depends how hungry you are. We will deffinately be recommending it to people.

You really have not had french fries until you have visited here! Not only do they have the best fries in New York City (in my opinion) BUT it is quite an experience. The place is small and you feel like you are in an a far away cottage. Some many sauces to choose from - I chose the Tequila... More

Cute little chip shop, coming from the uk I didn't expect too much but I loved this little place. Great sauces, either smothering the fries served in cones or in little sauce pots. Constantly busy on the day we went with no where to sit, so pop around the corner to the park where you can grab a park bench... More

Belgium Fries and Beer, in a small, basic pub setting. Keeping the menu simple and delivering perfection. Helpful order taker gives samples of dipping sauces for fries. They will tell you their favorites...and they are right. Fun stop at NYU.

We are Belgian expats living in Florida, so we jumped at the chance of visiting a place making our favorite food: Belgian fries (the French have no clue how to make them). They were quite good (too bad bintjes potatoes are not easy to find in the US), served in the traditional paper cone, and the choice of sauces was... More

Really happy that I made the trek here to find this place. There was a constant line, which was great, because that meant the fries were always fresh. The counter guy was very friendly and helpful. He was very generous with sauce samples (smart business move-I was going to stick with the free ketchup, but ended up getting the Vietnamese... More

I might be spoiled coming from Portland, Maine where there are the second best fries in the country (Duck Fat), but I really did not like these fries. They were too thick and not salted enough. The saving grace were the sauces, specifically malt vinegar and truffle mayo. Those were the only things that made the fries worth eating. I... More

Staying in East Village

Neighbourhood Profile
East Village
There’s still an independent vibe to the East Village, which offers plenty of unique small businesses catering to longtime New Yorkers and area college students alike. The East Village retains a bit of the old-time neighbourhood feel that you can still experience today thanks to a mix of locally-owned shops, cozy restaurants, and lively bars. The scale of the residential blocks makes this a wonderful place to wander up and down the streets searching for the newest hip spot, or an old-school favorite. In the center of the neighbourhood, Tompkins Square Park serves as a gathering point for the New Yorkers that call the East Village home. The people-watching here is hard to beat.
