A good spot for traditional Italian fare in midtown that won't bust the budget. Went with a colleague for a business lunch around noon. The place hasn't been updated in some time and the tables are packed in there. By 1pm when we left, I...More

We visited the restaurant on a whim. Small but cozy. The service was excellent. Very attentive and respectful. Our food was cooked beautifully. I had the chicken paillard and my guest had the Dover sole. We were both very happy. Perhaps the nicest touch, we...More

Cellini is a cozy restaurant conveniently located in Midtown. The menu options and food were very good. The prices were not exorbitant for Manhattan, except for the alcohol. The waiters are proficient but some were lacking in etiquette. For example, after I ordered a beer,...More

As a restaurateur, we love eating early because of les crowds and the kitchen isn’t stressed. 5:30 reservation, very attentive and fun staff. Eggplant appetizer was delicious. Chinghale ragout pappardelle was so thin and light as was the lasagna, both delicious We will be back

The place has the look of a prototypical Italian restaurant in 1960's movies. Nothing modern or hip about it, but it has its charm. The food is what you would expect but with a very well crafted, modern touch. The list of weekly specials indicate...More

We had the worst service and meal. It's been awhile since we have been and now we won't be back. The service was abominable. Waited almost an hour for our apps, had to complain twice, once to the waiter and once to the manager. Then...More

Cellini’s culinary style of chic simplicity produces a menu of astounding freshness and creativity. We began with a masterful rendition of cornmeal polenta wedges with masses of slivered shitake mushrooms and a calamari salad garnished with beans and scallions, each set off with a hot, homemade foccacia, augmented with sliced crusty Tuscan bread. We next chose panzotti-supple half moon pasta filled with fresh, crisp vegetables lightly bathed in a delicate porcini mushroom sauce. A unique tubular pasta stuffed with the freshest fish and spinach under a seasoned fish stock was enough to show us that each dish here has its own personality, and is densely concentrated with flavor.
