The quality is good but not outstanding. The place is nice inside but it's in a mall. The sushi is slapped on the plate with no much ado - this isn't the very typical Japanese high end restaurant and respect for the food and customers wasn't observed. It didn't help either none of the chefs were Japanese (Masa was not... More

This establishment was known to be the most expensive restaurant in the United States. It was relatively easy to reserve a table, unlike Le Bernardin. We reserved the same day with no problems getting a table. The dishes were beautifully presented, small works of art on little plates. Watching the chef prepare the sashimi in front of us added to... We had dinner when masa was in la and that was many years ago. The new spot is even more refined. While it was probably the most expensive meal we have had, more than any European spot as well, it was a wonderful experience. The sushi is amazing and the quality unlike any in the city. The speed at which... More

Yak. Expensive nothing It is beyond waste. You are a tourist and you are not getting the quality for the money. You would get more quality in Chelsea Market than in this poop. You are being fooled into buying fish that is not as expensive as the prices on the menu state. Sucker... I was one... No more. Ever....

A sublime and authentic meal with well structured small course after course enjoyed with some of the best saki pairings I the world. This was an amazing experience for a price that might have flown the three of us to Tokyo... No photography permitted to show you the cuts of cod, toro, ahi. The perfect creamy texture and ocean taste... More

It was recommended by one of my friends who had traveled to New York before as the best sushi in NYC. We were aware that it would be expensive and it was indeed - the food was authentic, fresh and we were nicely surprised by tasting something different, new, sometimes even unconventional in terms of ingredients when it comes to... This is THE sushi restaurant, among the Sushi places I have been to, even including the 3-star establishments in Tokyo. Everything, the place, the chef, the sake list, the service staff, and the food (of course) is the best! One must go, at least once in his/her life.

The dishes here are very authentic, expect this restaurant lots of items in US you can't get nowhere, the freshness and quality of the food is no doubt, but maybe because I'm Asian, I sort of feel it was a slightly over priced, I'm alone and spend around 1000, possibly because of distance, the chef was quite professional on nigiri,... Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
