We called in here for a few drinks and had a couple of the specials from the drinks board (domestic draft for hubby and house-cocktail for me). We sat at the bar and decided to have a couple of orders of bar snacks to "keep us going". Decided on the deep fried mozzerella sticks and they were lovely - freshly... More

The place is simple and cosy with a classic tavern interior I went for a rosted corn soup to start with. The soup was earthy, warming me. It was simple and good if not overly elegant. I then choose a classic burger which was serve with fries and ordered sauted spinach on the side: the spinach were good but a... More

We have been visiting this bar every time we return to NY. We come a few times each trip, and have always been delighted. But this time, although everything appeared exactly the same, something has changed. The food was okay, but it wasn't worth the money charged. I think I have just answered my own thought. This time, it was... More

Sadly, our experience was tainted by our server Bryan (i think that was the name), poor service, rushed us to our table, lethargic with service, made more effort chatting up the young girl who was also serving. However, the food was good, standard irish bar fayre, i just expected better from the staff, it's not like there's a shortage of... More

Our family was there the weekend before Christmas and when we checked into our hotel we were hungry and looking for good food and drink. I asked for the nearest Irish Pub and the concierge at our hotel recommended PJ Moran's which was right down the street. The place was packed but we sat at the bar and waited for... More

Stopped in on New Years Day for dinner. The streets were packed, but the ambiance and friendly service at PJ Moran's were the perfect escape. Drinks came quickly and the food did not disappoint. Fish and chips were crisp and flavourful. Shepherds Pie was hot and savoury. Traditional NYC cheesecake split 4 ways was ample. We relaxed, were well fed... More

So..we were in the area to see the decorated holiday windows. Should have seen this tourist trap coming! Soon as we sat two other guests quickly got up and left...later we learned they saw cockroaches and bolted. Service from first waitress was fine...drinks came quickly. Food was very slow to come and not good when it finally arrived Hubbie's "fish... More

This is a great place for lunch or dinner if you are in the Rockefeller Center area. It was very crowded but were seated pretty quickly. We did have reservations. The food and service were very good. Lots of good menu choices and a very "Irish pub" atmosphere. The manager was friendly and took the time to talk to us.... More

Description
30 years ago, John Mahon and Eamonn Maher realized their dream. The goal was to create a pub with old-world charm and warmth near the heart of the big city. They wanted to create an up-scale pub that embraced its neighborhood roots. John and Eammon had a vision of intimate booths and secluded tables with the smell of mahogany permeating through the room.

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
