Went there the other day for lunch. Ordered the small Kebab Koobideh. It was delicious, as was the rice and vegetables that accompanied the kabob. It was a good thing that I didn't order the large size. I wasn't even close to able to finish the smaller portion.

I came here because of the recommendation from a Jewish guy. The restaurant has a bar and a sushi area, but the main meal is serving Persian food. There will be some pita bread, marinated tomato, olive and cucumber as free tapas. The marinated tomato is a must try item, I personally don't like olive, because I don't like the... More

Its a cool place, good atmosphere, good service. For starters- the ghondi - which are persian meatballs made which chickpea powder were too sour- too much lemon was used, the hummous was so so, the main portions btw are big!! The rice is good, the Ghorme Sabzi was too sour- too much Persian lemon was used. The eggplant stew was... More

My wife and I went to Colbeh for dinner. The cuisine is Persian and it is a kosher restaurant. Now, my wife likes the Persian flavor palate, but I'm not totally enamored of it. She thought the food was great, but I wasn't necessarily thrilled. I will say that the service was superb; we told them we were in a... More

With less than stellar reviews, I was concerned when I brought a friend there for dinner before a concert at Madison Square Garden. I love the food at Great Neck location, my friend also is a foodie. I was at the NYC restaurant 15 years ago and I would go back in an instant. Service was great!!! Food was awesome!... More

New York is blessed with any number of kosher restaurants, so I ask "Why, when I dine in New York maybe once a year, do I keep going back to Colbeh?" I can get deli in Boston (Brookline, actually) , shawarma in Monsey, and steaks in Montreal. But the unique flavors of Iran are found only here at Colbeh. We... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
