Three of us had a delicious meal. The lobster pasta was excellent. The scallops were fair and the seafood bowl (which we did not have) really smelled a bit fishy as we could smell it across the room. The setting was nice. Maybe a bit overrated. Service good Location to broadway was good as well. Probably won't go back as... More

The sour face on the maître d should have alerted us. The food was fair at best: fish and pasta dishes were bland while the ice cream was flavored with chili peppers. The wine was good but quite expensive. On the whole while the atmosphere was nice and our waiter was excellent, neither could make up for the high cost... More

My daughter and I visited NYC for dinner and a show. We had a 5:45 pm reservation before a Broadway show. The service was very good and they got us out with plenty of time to make the show. The food was not cooked well. My daughter was served burnt bread. The calamari was chewy, overcooked. I had monkfish that... More

Food is consistently good. Expansive wine list. Order the salt bronzino. Perfection! Reserva required.

We enjoyed excellent service from our waitress for lunch this weekend and our food was very good, however, we did not experience a spirit of hospitality from the manager. He had a looming presence in the dining room and an attitude of arrogance. He was not welcoming and he was so unpleasant, at one point we actually considered leaving. Fortunately... More

We went there for my sister's bday. The place was crowded but nice. You can sit either outside or inside. Service was ok. Food was definitely good It's worth the price

Esca is an amazing Italian seafood restaurant. We had the Crudo tasting appetizer and the Bronzino for Two for the main course. Everything was incredibly fresh and tasty. Seriously one of the best seafood restaurants I have ever been to. Excellent wine selection ask well. Dessert was sublime with a lemon cake. Be prepared to spend some $$$$ here, but... More

We selected Esca because it was close to the theater where we were seeing a matinee. I was a bit worried that they opened at noon and if we would make our play, but when I made the reservation I was assured that they could accommodate us. Well, they said open at noon and they meant it even though there... More

First, I want those who read this to be aware that I have been to this restaurant a number of times and the food is usually pretty good. On this occasion I was surprised that the food was sub par. My girlfriend ordered the Tagliatelle Alla Piemontese with the white truffles which was good but at $90 could have been... More

The food was sensational and the wine selection vast. Service was excellent but the restaurant is noisy and crowded.

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
