My favorite restaurants in town to eat amazing seafood are Greenpoint Fish & Lobster in Brooklyn ($) and Milos ($$$$$$). There could not be two more different places, the first a cornerstone fish monger with some tables in the back in a quaint neighborhood, the other a flashy industrial place surrounded by skyscrapers that feels, when crowded, like a joyous... Hosted friends for a pre-theatre dinner prior to scooting next-door to City Center. Large, expansive, bustling dining room. Marvelous staff and waiters. Incredibly fresh seafood. Timing of the meals are managed well; never rushed never lagging. Drinks arrive on-order. It is a tad pricey - even the prix-fixe - however it's a tried and true, proven resto with excellent service.... More

We ate here for a pre-theater dinner. They have a prix fixe dinner which is an excellent value at $49. The space is modern with industrial touches. The noise level is moderate to loud but overall makes the place vibrant. The hostess and waiters were all very friendly and ready to answer any questions we had. The grilled octopus appetizer... This is a beautiful restaurant, great atmosphere, great service, and most importantly great food! Truly a wonderful meal. The only reason I don't give this place 5 stars is because of the astronomical prices ( there are similar places that are very close to the same level, for half the price). If money doesn't matter then you should eat here... More

Can't say enough about the fantastic food and the wonderful service. We were in the city and found this as a last minute OpenTable reservation. Normally we do a lot more research on restaurants but this was very last minute. We couldn't have had a nicer experience. Absolute BEST Greek salad that we've ever eaten. Everything was super fresh and... More

hadn't been here in a few years, but had an engagement nearby so went for an early dinner on a Monday. First off, the maitre d' let me sit down before my other party arrived, so good points right there; place treats you like an adult. Service is good,a little slow at times. And then the food is simply excellent.... More

Yes, that is the reaction I had when my host suggested a "Greek" restaurant. That is not Milos. Milos is "upscale" even by New York City standards. New, fresh, large, vibrant, surprising. Though ti appeared to be full at the peak of the dinner hour, our reservation was honored and we were seated after a nominal wait. While we had... More

Dinner last night at Milo's was as perfect as it could be. From the price fixe menu was priced extremely fair and portions were not skimped . Wait staff was attentive, pleasant and courteous. Appraisers of grilled octopus and sturgeon were out of this world. Second course of tomato salad was second to non. Don't forget to order the Milos... More

Description
It was in 1980, when Chef-Owner Mr. Costas Spiliadis opened the first Estiatorio Milos on Park Avenue, Montreal. The reason seemed obvious to him: the need to elevate the sophistication of Greek cuisine abroad far away from its stereotyped forklorization.

'I wanted to change what people thought about Greek cuisine, make sure it's being appreciated and awarded with its rightful place on an international level!'

As a small restaurant, Milos gained the trust of the Montrealers in no time. The menu being always simple and impeccably fresh, drew the attention of the media and food critics from around the world. NY Post has triumphly started that 'Milos fish could only be fresher if it swam to your plate!'

What was the secret that made Milos stand out? Its focus in finding the purest Mediterranean products and cooking with the freshest ingredients.Through 35 years of intensive research, we have managed to build lasting relationships with growers and small-scale fisheries at the shores of Greece, Morocco, Tunisia and Portugal, flying in our fish and seafood daily by plane! Milos has since then taken the world by strom and opened in 1997 in NYC, in 2004 in Athens,in 2010 at the Cosmopolitan Hotel in Las Vegas and in 2012 in Miami Beach and in 2015 in London!

We invite you to live the Milos experience and celebrate with us our 35th year anniversary!

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
