I enjoyed Puglia in Little Italy. Food was prepared like old style and good. Atmosphere for lunch was very nice with Frank Sinatra music playing in the background. Pricing was phenomenal and well worth spending more than the meal to arrive by taxi. You will...More

Cannot remember the last time that I was in a restaurant this loud. I had to raise my voice just to speak to a relative sitting directly across from me. Also, tables were too close together. So close that the waiter had difficulty delivering the...More

It had been decades since I last had dinner at Puglia. Some things hadn't changed. The traditional American-Italian food was still delicious, the prices were still low, and the restaurant still had a fun, party atmosphere. But one thing definitely has gotten worse: the noise....More

Some of the best Italian food we've had as a family! The murals are beautiful around the dining area (crowded tables, yes, but that lends itself to the fun!). It WAS pretty loud, but it was a FUN LOUD, with dancing and singing! The bread...More

Great spot in Little Italy. Delicious, fresh, Italian dishes. Congenial servers. Reasonable prices. Dining room in back offers quiet seating. Want to return to try their pizza.

This was my first time in Little Italy and I wanted a traditional Italian pizza! We walked around a fair few places, but ended up choosing this restaurant because it looked cosy and welcoming. It had been established in the 1910s, so it must be...More

Little Italy
While Little Italy is one of the city's smallest
neighbourhoods, its streets are packed with visitors
from around the globe, especially on summer weekends
when the streets are closed to traffic. Stroll up
Mulberry Street, the heart of Little Italy, for a
dense mix of Italian restaurants with sidewalk tables,
cafes, and old-school food shops. Don’t be surprised
when the hosts beckon you to pay them a visit. Stop in

n 1919 Gregorio Garofalo came over from Italy to begin his American dream...
He rented a basement, put in his coal stoves, and sprinkled saw dust on the floor. With his knowledge of creating homemade wines, and his passion for cooking, Gregorio's dream began....

The name ..."Puglia" is a region in Southern Italy from which he immigrated.
People came from far to indulge in the delicacies Gregorio prepared; Capuzzello (sheepshead), Tripe (the lining of the stomach of a young ox), and Pasta E Fagioli (pasta and beans), but what they loved the most was the way he treated everyone like his own family.

Today with his 3rd generation carrying on the recipes and the values he taught them,
Gregorio is smiling....
All of us at Puglia thank you for making Gregorio's dream a reality.

Buona Sera
