Ate here because it was close to a nearby play reading and it turned out to be a little gem. Salmon sashimi is my thing and Sushi Choshi did not disappoint. Most Japanese eateries have salmon skin salads. Choshi offers two salmon items that are unusual. One is Salmon Kinuta which is fresh salmon wrapped in cucumber with avocado. Excellent!... More

If you are on a budget and want a quick decent Japanese meal, try Sushi Choshi. The location is precious, in the heart of Gramercy Park and conveniently situated at a cross street o Irving and 19th, which makes a great scenic place to eat at the terrace in the summer time, and behind the large glass windows in colder... The food is ok and the price is fair. The restaurant is in the neighborhood and so we go there but I would not suggest traveling to eat there

The portions are large and the tastes are as good as they get. It is always fresh and I get the Choshi when I need a big dish. Just good ole raw fish. Go before the crowd or on a quiet day.

Though not a destination in and of itself, Choshi is a solid, affordable, cozy sushi joint in the heart of Gramercy off Union Square. It's a welcome alternative to the plastic, homogenous cookie cutter sushi joints that litter the area. The prices are reasonable, especially in light of the super efficient service and excellent quality. The atmosphere is a bit... More

Not sure why it was empty when I came. The sushi was great and the service as well. Miso soup was good. Nigiri were delicious and with big fresh chunk of fish. Try combo box

We live about a mile away and enjoy a relaxed walk down Lexington Av after a long work day. The rather informal and relaxed atmosphere is very appealing, so is the friendly, efficient and courteous service, and also the sake. The prices are very reasonable and I love the Chilean Sea Bass, which is served with plenty of veges. The... More

Crowded and noisy, but a bargain if you like good sushi and sashimi... mostly young crowd but a well worth the crowdedness if you are in the mood and don't want to pay a fortune... if you go at lest popular times, it will be less crowded... excellent deal!!

I have traveled a lot around the world, and I've been 5 times in Japan. This is the best Sushi place I have been to outside of Japan, with no doubt. the 'Salmon Lovers' roll is especially amazing. This place is pure Japan: Very good Sushi, fair pricing, humble Japanese decoration. It is Japan in NYC.
