ABC Kitchen is a cool restaurant at the side entrance to this great store. I had a quick lunch at the bar (kitchen closes at 3pm in the afternoon). The service was friendly and efficient, my calamari dish was great!

The space itself is charming; kind of like Industrial Revolution chic. At 2:30 PM on a Friday, the place was packed. We all had starters: The tuna sashimi was great; so, too, the warm pea soup, crab toast, and beet-and-yogurt salad. I had the black sea bass ( or whatever); excellent. Service was wonderful. My only carp: Loud. Too many... More

Wonderful dining establishment for brunch. Interior design is warm and inviting, service is impeccable and food is even better. Can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Recommend making reservations.

I had heard rave reviews about this restaurant, and they were all correct. The service was great and the wines by the glass were awesome. I fell in love with their Porter Creek Chardonnay. It paired perfectly with the hake and mushroom bolognese fettuccine. I will definitely return.

This is a special spot inside ABC Carpet and Home. We ate there twice while we were in New York. Fava Leaves was the most delicious - we have never had these before. The service is attentive and the wine list is a bit pricey but not crazy. The ambiance in the room is really well thought out and the... More

Dining alone sat at the bar and enjoyed a glass of wine with the three course meal option. The soup and Pork ragu Raviolo were excellent. Dessert options were a little disappointing, but very decent size, service was excellent and very friendly. One little hitch, upon arrival I asked for a table for one and directed to bar, more than... More

Was very excited when I got a last opening for brunch on open table - the restaurant was half empty 🤔. Waited 30 min to get a menu, then 15 min to get water. Food is overrated and overpriced. $27 fried shrimp mixed grains salad - very small shrimps with lots of fried stuff around , mixed grains were dry... More

The basics of pleasant dining is well executed in the lovely plain setting of JV's ABC Kitchen. Deliciously fresh twists on simple yet masterfully prepared food, well mannered service and warm hospitality come together nicely behind an unpretentious door that shouldn't be missed, although walk-in is nearly impossible.

Staying in Flatiron District

Neighbourhood Profile
Flatiron District
Offering many of city’s best restaurants and shops set amid classic New York architecture, the Flatiron District is no longer under the tourist radar. At 23rd Street is the famous triangular Flatiron Building, which makes a good picture no matter what angle you photograph it from. Be sure to look up at the elegant architecture as you stroll the streets- much of this neighborhood is part of a historic district that was home to many of the city’s most famous department stores at the turn of the century. At the northern end of the neighbourhood, Madison Square Park is best known for being the home of a famous burger shack, but it can also be a quiet refuge to spend an afternoon, and it frequently hosts interesting public art exhibits. In the lower part of the Flatiron District you'll find Union Square, a bustling crossroads at all times of day and night.
