Sit at the bar and enjoy the drinks, food and great vibe. The space is fun and the bar area is not at all stuffy. If you like citrus drinks try the "Roger Fitz Spritz", it's refreshing and delicious. The kale and cauliflower salad was very good as was my friends meatball entree. I had the sea bass, the fish... More

The service was terrible and they did not have enough family friendly meals. My son Lucas wanted chicken fingers but they didn't have any. What kind of restaurant doesn't have chicken fingers.

We spent a lovely evening at this Michelin starred restaurant in the heart of New York. Service and food excellent with a lovely atmosphere. We were given granola bars as we left which was a nice touch. Highly recommended!

A friend has wanted me to eat at Gramercy Tavern for years. I can't imagine why I resisted. While waiting for a late lunch, we ducked in to have a drink at the bar. What a treat! The bartender was personable. Our cocktails perfect. The atmosphere was warm-- with the traditional comfortable appointments of an English-type bar/restaurant: wooden bar, open... More

My meal at Gramercy Tavern was amazing from start to finish, the service was faultless, the food was fabulous and it was such a pretty room you could dine there every time you came to NYC if your wallet allowed. Booked exactly 1 month in advance and got a reservation for the Friday night I was in the city. Unfortunately,... More

There a few places in the United States where the dining is a true experience - The Gramercy Tavern is one of them, I usually grab a burger at lunch on a Sunday, but managed to branch out to dinner and it was well worth it. More variety and more flavors. Michael Anthony always finds a way of making the... More

So much has been said and written about this great New York restaurant, that it is hard to write anything except that it lives up to its billing as one of the really best places to eat....anywhere. The service was impeccable and our waiter extremely knowledgeable and helpful. We had the full Tasting Menu, which was fabulous in every respect.... More

I've been there a number of times over 20 years and it never disappoints. Such a classic New York City place with all the touches done the right way.

The Gramercy Tavern is classy in style and food. We had mid-afternoon lunch in the dining room...which is just an extension of the 'tavern' area and which takes reservations (the Tavern itself is first come/first serve and with a slightly different menu). The attention to detail was great...the wait staff and servers left you alone but were always available. Food... More

Description
One of America’s most beloved restaurants, Gramercy Tavern has welcomed guests for close to two decades to enjoy seasonal American cuisine, warm hospitality and unparalleled service. The restaurant is perennially ranked at the top of Zagat Survey’s ‘Most Popular’ list, and has garnered eight James Beard Awards including ‘Outstanding Restaurant’ and ‘Best Chef: NYC’. Chef Michael Anthony’s highly seasonal menu consists of elegant dishes with a rustic influence that showcase the restaurant’s relationships with local farms and purveyors. The Main Dining Room serves prix-fixe menus starting at $92 for dinner and an a la carte menu for lunch, and accepts reservations 28 days in advance. The more casual Tavern serves an a la carte menu centered around the wood burning grill, and welcomes guests on a walk-in basis. The restaurant also features an acclaimed wine list, and thoughtfully selected beer and cocktail offerings.

Staying in Flatiron District

Neighbourhood Profile
Flatiron District
Offering many of city’s best restaurants and shops set amid classic New York architecture, the Flatiron District is no longer under the tourist radar. At 23rd Street is the famous triangular Flatiron Building, which makes a good picture no matter what angle you photograph it from. Be sure to look up at the elegant architecture as you stroll the streets- much of this neighborhood is part of a historic district that was home to many of the city’s most famous department stores at the turn of the century. At the northern end of the neighbourhood, Madison Square Park is best known for being the home of a famous burger shack, but it can also be a quiet refuge to spend an afternoon, and it frequently hosts interesting public art exhibits. In the lower part of the Flatiron District you'll find Union Square, a bustling crossroads at all times of day and night.
