I like to try Indian food in every city that I visit, and though this place isn't the cleanest or nicest thing to look at, the service was attentive, and the food was excellent! The chicken korma was very good, and the nan was exceptional, as was the cheesiest of cheese nans. Oh, and the king fisher beer was so... More

I have frequented this restaurant but after this last visit, I will not return. I went with my daughters and was a victim of total prejudice. The type of prejudice we do not usually come across in the US. A waiter was in the middle of taking our order when he noticed an Indian man come in. In mid sentence,... More

One of my favorite Indian restaurants ever -- I know for some the steep stairs to get in may put them off but it is totally worth it. The service is attentive and the tables are spaced a reasonable distance from each other. The entrees come with rice -- I always feel that it is inappropriate for them to charge... More

We visited after reading reviews looking for an English curry house. Busy place with good service. My husband loved his very hot curry but i found mine almost too hot to eat.

Very flavorful, just I felt the dish should have contained more curry. I had carry-out, perhaps if you eat in they give you more. Overall, I'd recommend it.

We dined here a few years ago. Their sign was easy to spot, but the entrance door was not immediately obvious. Once inside, we were very happy with the warm décor and wonderful staff, even though the time of arrival, 3:45 pm was odd. The staff were enjoying their break, but immediately set us up at one of the front... More

You walk up a wooden stair and you real you are in the wrong place. You are not.You enter a two room heavily decorated Indian rest. The food is well done and definitely better than the luxurious Idian restaurants of New York.Prices are fair(by N Y standards) and you can choose from a suitable wine list.Good choice if you are in the... If you enjoy Indian food and are in the Bloomingdales area, try Agra. It is a small restaurant on the second floor between 62 nd & 62 rd st. The selection is good and the prices are affordable. They also have a businessman's lunch which is reasonably priced and served fast. Leave room for their rasmalai dessert. The chicken tikka... More

This is as our third tie visitng New York and we had to try SMS Indian so we asked a friend for a recommendation and he didn't hesitate to point us to Agra. We had dinner here last week end and it was fabulous. The food was amazing, so rich and well crafted! Apparently, they mastered their craft having been... More

Staying in Upper East Side

Neighbourhood Profile
Upper East Side
Combining quiet residential neighbourhoods that have easy access to Central Park with world-famous cultural institutions, the Upper East Side is one of the most livable places in the city. Along beautiful Fifth Avenue, you’ll find Museum Mile, which houses many of the nation's most famous attractions in a single stretch, like The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Guggenheim Museum. Walk a few blocks into the neighbourhood, and you’ll come to Park Avenue, the poshest address in the city, lined with grand apartment buildings as far as the eye can see. Even if you can’t afford the luxury goods along Madison Avenue, it’s still a great spot to window shop an afternoon away.
