These are the rudest people I've ever encountered in a restaurant. Will never ever go back. Hot and sour soup watery and tasteless. Main dish just acceptable.

I'm an American Born Chinese (ABC) who has relatives who have owned and operated Chinese restaurants, and who has eaten authentic Chinese food - home cooked, food cooked in restaurants in two different countries; good Chinese food, bad Chinese food, and in between. We ordered pan fried dumplings, beef chow fun, and scallion pancakes for delivery. Everything was tasty, cooked... More

I eat here about twice a year. I have never been disappointed with the meal. I will keep coming back.

Yes 1982 - I and my wife were regulars - and the food is very good by DC standards - Washington does not have any memorable Chinese restaurants - but mundane for NYC. I am addicted to sesame noodles, these lacked scaklions and had too much sauce but werecstill good. I also had Ta Chien Chicken and it was a... More

I come here 2 times a year for the duck and a few other things I always enjoy it. Have been coming here for 21 years. The same family seems to own or manage it. They are collectively the most u pleasant people in the restaurant industry. So foolish when this is a local spot with the potential for being... More

I formerly lived in the neighborhood and I dined in and took out lots of meals. I brought family in when we couldn't decide between Chinese & Japanese food. Obviously I liked the place. Recently back in the neighborhood we tried it again. The faces were the same and the service was good, but the food was not up to... More

I'm not a fan of Chinese food but wow was this delicious! The miso soup is very flavorful and the sweet and sour chicken was amazing. The oranges for dessert were sweet and juicy. Definitely recommend this place. The service was quick as well.

1.0 star rating 2/20/2016 We had dinner here with our family including 2 elderly grandparents and 2 babies. Although, we had reservations the waiters gave us a hard time about the 2 high chairs needed and insisted on sitting our group of 10 at a table for 8. (I literally had to to move a nearby table for 2 by... More

Empire is a neighborhood restaurant. Upper West Side. 3 blocks from Lincoln Center. Not fancy and good if you want to avoid the tourist spots. Large variety of Chinese and Japanese. We went with Chinese - it was very good.
