At this price level, and with this pedigree, I expected much much better. Positives: the space is beautiful-- exposed brick, soft lighting, mirrors to diffuse any sense of claustrophobia, and the food for the most part was decent. The skate was my favorite-- One rarely...More

The place had a great vibe and the food was simply fantastic. Right from the sweet, yummy tomatoes in the Burrata dish to the mixed vegetarian salad, everything was great. The Black Truffle pizza was also just too fab!!

With so many places to dine in NYC, I would not recommend this one. Sure, it seems to be a bit of a hot spot and the food is quite good, but the service does not match the quality of the food. Our server provided...More

Service was good, friendly. Companion had the Hamburger, looked great. My choice of the lamb sandwich was just ok. Nice for a visit probably not a repeat.

This Chef Jean-George creation is in a very cool lower level of the Mercer Hotel. Scene was incredible and it was a mob scene. Food and service was spot on. So delicious.

I really like their veal milanese, my husband likes heir ribeye. I would probably describe their dinner menu as basic American fare...with a gourmet twist.

Located at the Mercer Hotel, Mercer Kitchen brings a chic, sophisticated vibe to the heart of SoHo. When Mercer Kitchen opened in 1998, it immediately became a destination for New Yorkers, celebrities, and tourists. Situated in the basement of a historic building constructed in the 1800s, the restaurant was designed by Christian Liaigre as a combination of industrial and classic modernism. Chef Jean-Georges' American menu features market-driven, seasonal ingredients prepared in a simple yet elegant style, with favorites like the Tuna Spring Roll, Steamed Shrimp Salad, wood-fired pizzas, and classic Warm Valrhona Chocolate Cake. There is an open kitchen, where guests can sit back and watch the show. The perfect restaurant for group dining, special events and celebrations.
