A first time visit for our family of 6 including two children. We we looking for casual Italian restaurant in the Village, one that would be kid friendly. They went through adult portions of pasta, no doubt innately knowing the difference in home made pasta and that from the box. All of the adults followed suit. I had wanted the... More

We go once a year to NYC, and have been going to Lupa every time the last few years. We got our "go to" dishes--cacao e pepe and saltimbocca, preceded by a salad. The cacao e pepe was excellent, as usual, but the saltimbocca was off a bit. We couldn't tell why--maybe the veal, maybe sautéed a bit too long.... More

I'm a Born and bred New Yorker but have been living in LA for a very long time and there's not too many "proper" Italian restaurants in LA. My sister introduced my husband and I to this little gem in the west village and I've never had a bowl of pasta as good as the one I had last night.... More

Missing Roman cuisine, decided to have my birthday lunch at Lupa and was not disappointed. Midweek the restaurant wasn't overly busy so atmosphere was really comfortable. Great service by helpful waitress. Husband enjoyed the price fixe lunch and I ordered off the menu. We mixed up appetizers, primi, seconds and had a great time. Excellent wine recommendations. Not inexpensive, but... More

Crowded space but beautifully decorated and still very comfortable. We had reservations and came here for a late dinner at 10PM on a Friday night and they were definitely busy. We had the meats platter as an appetizer, I had arctic char as my entree and we had spiced dates with mascarpone as our dessert along with a glass of... More

i have enjoyed this special pasta dish from newyork to Rome....and no-one does it as well as Lupa.. this congenial restaurant is difficult to get in....but they have lots of tables for 'walk-ins'. we ofter sit at the bar and eat there. the staff is super friendly and there is a little outdoor dining area in summer.

Went back to Lupa for a nice evening dinner. Was considering tasting menu but decided ala carte. I had striped bass and partner had pasta. The pasta was magnificent but the fish was good but not spectacular. I would go back just for the spinach salad and tartufo. And next time I will stick to pasta.

The long list of pastas available at lunch and dinner are different than any you've had at a non-Batali restaurant. Pasta with short ribs was outstanding--as was the bacala salad appetizer (I've been searching for that classic for years in New York restaurants). Also a great value is the daily special (I had the oxtail stew--also not something you see... More

Staying in Greenwich Village

Neighbourhood Profile
Greenwich Village
Commonly known as “the Village” to New Yorkers, it was here in Greenwich Village that both 1960’s counter culture and the LGBT movement were born. Famous for its bohemian past, head to Washington Square Park to get a feel for this diverse and energetic neighbourhood. You’ll find NYU students, street performers, skateboarders, kids frolicking in the fountain, and locals relaxing and playing chess. Stroll the streets to discover a mix of majestic town homes and hidden bars and restaurants that give this neighbourhood an old-school residential feel. When the sun goes down, check out one of the famous jazz or comedy clubs that still packs them in every night.
