We went here twice when we were in NYC. It's got such a good atmosphere - really buzzy. The food was awesome and the waiting staff are super friendly! We live in London so after going here, we went straight to the London branch which...More

Everyone should stop by Balthazar when visiting NYC! Great food, very good service and a very nice atmosphere, located in the heart of Soho. You need to try the Stake Frites!

We recently dined at Balthazar in Soho and enjoyed our dinner experience very much. the food is great and the service excellent. We had Steak au Poivre, Steak Frites, Chicken Paillard and the Salmon at our table. The consensus was that dinners were tasty and...More

This restaurant is just as busy as the streets of Manhattan. The food is good quality. If you don’t have a reservation the staff are quite accommodating. In terms of price, we would prefer a quieter more intimate setting if we have to pay the...More

It simply doesn't get much more classic than at Balthazar in NYC. Always a good buzz going on; stylish and chic surroundings. Food is not experimental (no foams or molecules... not that there's anything wrong with that!), but overall quite excellent. This trip, my main...More

Finally made it to Balthazar. Fun scene. Loved the steak tartare. Will get as main next time. Duck confit was ok. Banana tart great. Carafe of Cotes du Rhone a great Deal.

I have wanted to eat at Balthazar’s for years now and finally made it on a Saturday for brunch. Both the food and service were fantastic! I do agree with other reviewers that the prices are a bit high for eggs, but then again it...More

I've eaten at Balthazar (the brasserie side) several times, and generally enjoyed both the food and the service. I've also given the boulangerie several chances, and I was disappointed every single time. The staff just plainly gives the wrong answers, or forgets simple instructions, and...More

As Australian francophiles we chose Balthazar for my wife’s signature birthday dinner in NYC. We loved the clatteringly frantic atmosphere of french dining, great Louis Roederer bubbles and and an even better white burgundy. But the overwhelming highlight was Thursday’s plat du jour - la...More

Hi, it really depends on when you are planning to visit the restaurant. But I would suggest at least two weeks to avoid disappointment. Friday lunch through to Sunday lunch are peak times.
