Arturo's could not have been more welcoming and hospitable to us. We were a zany family. Made reservations for 6:30 and out table was ready. Arturo's is a comfy cozy neighborhood Italian restaurant in the heart of the village. They have live music in the other room but we were in the side room so we were able to talk.... More

Some of the best pizza I’ve had in New York City recently has been at Arturo’s on Houston. This institution has been around forever, but somehow I kept skipping it. I visited about 4 times in a period of 6 months and they consistently bring a great thin/crispy crust, good cheese flavor, and toppings that are to die for. That... More

My husband and I came here for dinner one night as a part of our pizza tour of NYC. This place is adorable and has been around since the 1950's! IN the front of the restaurant, there is a bar where live jazz is played at night. It gives the restaurant such a lovely vibe. We got a mozzarella pizza.... More

I came to Arturos for a friends birthday dinner 5 yrs ago. I asked the same 5 if they wanted to come to NYC and Arturos again for my birthday dinner. All 5 came, along with 2 others, from Alaska, Arkansas, Tennessee and Arizona. We enjoyed it last time and loved our evening again! We started with Chianti, went to... More

Nice place at a good location. Had dinner with 8 people and service was very good and wait staff was excellent. Food was good but we were somewhat disappointed--just thought it would be better. Would return again and recommend it.

We had a lovely family dinner at Arturo's over a Christmas visit to NYC. The Italian dishes are traditional and very flavorful, and for New York, affordable. We were going to eat in Little Italy, but this was a far nicer choice because of the music. Greenwich Village is a charming area too. It is lovely and there seems to... More

Visiting New York and wanted to experience pizza (for kids) and Jazz for us. This place was great. Food lovely and service spot on. Made us very welcome. Music very good - great atmosphere all round. Would definitely recommend and will be back on our next visit to NY.

Great place for dinner with old school NY atmosphere with live jazz. The servers and patrons sometimes join the band for a song. It is very small and the wait can be extremely long. The bartender is very busy so it's tough to get a drink. The food is outstanding. We had the seafood salad which included the best squid... More

Stopped here without a reservation for lunch and didn't have to wait. However, the room we sat in was way overcrowded and noisy. You couldn't hear the pianist, nor who you were dining with. You also could hardly move around the room with all the people. Only one bathroom that was very odd (had a bathtub in it). The pizza... More

Arturo's is a throw back...great staff, decent food (fine pizza) and most nights a jazz duo or more. Near all the trendy areas of the Village and an easy ride via subway from midtown.

Staying in Greenwich Village

Neighbourhood Profile
Greenwich Village
Commonly known as “the Village” to New Yorkers, it was here in Greenwich Village that both 1960’s counter culture and the LGBT movement were born. Famous for its bohemian past, head to Washington Square Park to get a feel for this diverse and energetic neighbourhood. You’ll find NYU students, street performers, skateboarders, kids frolicking in the fountain, and locals relaxing and playing chess. Stroll the streets to discover a mix of majestic town homes and hidden bars and restaurants that give this neighbourhood an old-school residential feel. When the sun goes down, check out one of the famous jazz or comedy clubs that still packs them in every night.
