The Holiday is one of the gems of the East Village. If you're looking for "authentic" rather than Millenial-friendly/trendy, this is the place for you.

Stopped by Holidays after the show the Quantum Eye. Needed to get buzzed after that show. The guys in Holidays did not disappoint. They mixed up a few different cocktails for us to try and boy the were on the money. I recommend if your in the area stop in for a few concoctions. I want to personally thank them... More

We didn't eat here, but had one of the best nights of our trip - lovely staff and a good price range for drinks. Apparently Auden hung out here! Has kept its historic, edgy, fifties feel. Nice crowd too, not packed. Also the staff brought WATER to our table then kept refilling it - something that would help my hangovers... More

Our group were all frequent guests of the Holiday back in the days before NYC became a strip mall for billionaires & trust fund brats. The place was a total dive of the best possible kind. The new Holiday, though considerably less atmospheric, was a surprisingly fun night out, especially for the East Village. Drinks are quite reasonable (half-bottles of... More

Staying in East Village

Neighbourhood Profile
East Village
There’s still an independent vibe to the East Village, which offers plenty of unique small businesses catering to longtime New Yorkers and area college students alike. The East Village retains a bit of the old-time neighbourhood feel that you can still experience today thanks to a mix of locally-owned shops, cozy restaurants, and lively bars. The scale of the residential blocks makes this a wonderful place to wander up and down the streets searching for the newest hip spot, or an old-school favorite. In the center of the neighbourhood, Tompkins Square Park serves as a gathering point for the New Yorkers that call the East Village home. The people-watching here is hard to beat.
