After two weeks, we were missing Indian food and found this place on trip advisor. Simple menu, cheap and delicious rolls! Especially the chat pata paneer.

THE best Indian street food. Order the lime paneer roll (get it spicy), minced lamb roll, chicken malai roll. Go with friends so you can order more and share...and keep going back until you've tried everything on their menu at least one. And then go back for seconds, thirds... It's that good.

Tried a variety of rolls and unfortunately they were all too spicy for me! I have a decent spice tolerance level, though my reaction to moderately spicy foods is pretty visible (runny eyes and nose). However I really dislike that kind of spiciness that just lasts and lasts in your mouth and makes your throat scratchy. Also, the food here... More

It is just amazing how you could grab genuine desi wraps after you are wasted in west village - this is one of my favorites ... reminds me of of Mumbai and how easy it is to grab street food there..

Offering a delicious menu of Indian Cart Food, Thelewala has become my first meal stop when visiting my son in NYC! The owners are friendly, the tiny eat in or take out space is inviting and clean. My meal is always fresh, hot and delicious...even on the 3rd visit in 6 days!! My favorite is the Tawa Chicken with Paratha... More

Thelewala means street side food (in hindi), and ironically those are really tasty. The food was really tasty and it a good place to hang out with friends and family

I would come back to NY just for this place. Late night the small Indian takeaway joint is pumping with people constantly coming in and out. The food was better than what my mother can cook and even better than what you get in India.

A real taste of India. It got me so nostalgic... another hole in the wall in NYC dishing out some delicious bites. We went there twice and ordered in too!

It was such a disappointing experience. Thelewala clearly cuts on costs, by doing the following: 1. no chutney inside the roll, unless you specifically ask for it, and pay more- result is a dry roll 2. if you order an 'unda (egg)' kati roll, the omlette literally covers only half the parantha, not the whole thing. This is misleading, because... More
