I have been to Beecher's quite a few times as I love cheese and they make some of it right on premise in Flatiron! A few days ago a friend and I were waiting for an event to start and stopped in for a quick dinner. I was quite surprised to find they were serving a new menu! The "world's... More

I couldn't resist- I had a toasted cheese sandwich.....amazing!!!!! The great thing was you could see the workers in the cheese factory through the enclosed glass workshop.

So we walked in for a drink and a few nibbles. After glancing at the menu we spotted a claim of 'the worlds best mac n cheese'. With that claim we decided to order one alongside a selection of three cheeses and some cocktails. Anyway, that was one of the worst decisions I've ever made. We should have order more... More

Cozy downstairs is a fun place for dinner or drinks. After having a look at the cool upstairs where they make the cheese, your descent to this underground environment is special. Food is good and people around us were extolling the Mac n' cheese. We had the flatbread, which was quite good!

Mac and Cheese is outstanding. Wine selection is good. This is one of the best spots in Union square for a hearty drink with good company. Service sometimes is slack. No one comes to you unless you call them.It doesn' matter.Do try their white beans.

I went to Beecher's last weekend to try out their grilled cheese with homemade cheese, and I generally don't like grilled cheese, but it was a family trip so I had to go. I had the Caprese Sandwich, which includes thier Flagship Homemade Cheese, tomato, basil, mustard, and mayo on a locally baked bread. It was possibly the best grilled... More

Staying in Flatiron District

Neighbourhood Profile
Flatiron District
Offering many of city’s best restaurants and shops set amid classic New York architecture, the Flatiron District is no longer under the tourist radar. At 23rd Street is the famous triangular Flatiron Building, which makes a good picture no matter what angle you photograph it from. Be sure to look up at the elegant architecture as you stroll the streets- much of this neighborhood is part of a historic district that was home to many of the city’s most famous department stores at the turn of the century. At the northern end of the neighbourhood, Madison Square Park is best known for being the home of a famous burger shack, but it can also be a quiet refuge to spend an afternoon, and it frequently hosts interesting public art exhibits. In the lower part of the Flatiron District you'll find Union Square, a bustling crossroads at all times of day and night.
