Staying in the hotel, when we go b&b we always enjoy the breakfast here. There's a good choice of full irish, continental or porridge. Restaurant is decent too, good for burgers and sandwiches. Bar is lovely in the evenings, seems popular with the after work...More

We had a few beers here during our stay in the hotel. Very busy on the Friday night, but seemed to empty fast. It was fine on the other nights though. There's a barman, I think his name is "Octo", who is second to none,...More

This bar was attached to our hotel so a great convenient place for a drink or breakfast or an evening meal. Varied menu and drinks. Has an outside seating area too

We enjoyed drinks in this Irish bar in our hotel - the Fitzpatrick Grand Central. We also had lunch and a late dinner one evening - good pub food. Lovely patio area too.

I have no joy in writing negative reviews; especially when the people effected seem very pleasant and earnest. Having stayed at this hotel before and having had an enjoyable breakfast, we opted to stop by on a Sunday for lunch en route to visiting a...More

We ate and drank here as guests of the hotel, but I don't think I would have if we hadn't been. It is not particularly enticing from the street, or well advertised. The patio area at the back of the hotel is great, as they...More

This place has a great location next to grand central. It's a small place but it has a back patio. It's a good spot to stop for happy hour

Bar and restaurant attached to Fitzpatrick's Hotel near Grand Central on 44th street. Nice pub atmosphere that appears to be partially outdoors, almost like a covered alleyway, using gas space heaters the day I was there. Friendly service and the burgers were quite good. Fries,...More

Description
The Wheeltapper celebrates the best of a traditional Irish pub, offering contemporary food and drink in an informal atmosphere. Together with the year-round outdoor Patio, this restaurant and bar is the perfect spot for breakfast, lunch, weekend brunch, dinner, or cocktails.

As fitting for a pub so close to Grand Central Terminal, the Wheeltapper's design includes authentic railroad artifacts and memorabilia from the turn of the century. Cozy and warm, the Wheeltapper's two bars, front and back, are comprised of quaint nooks for semi-private dining or drinking, and connected by the Carriage, a passage that closely resembles a classic railroad dining car. A fireplace warms up the back bar in cold weather.

A door takes you from the back bar out to the Patio, a 2,200 square foot outdoor garden wit seating for 48 people and plenty of room to stand and mingle. This unique space is covered with a retractable awning and heated in winter, allowing it to stay open year-round.
