As we are frequent Opera goers, we are always looking for convinient restaurants near the Met. We have always been more than satisfied with the quality of the food and the professional service. There is always a nice selection of fresh fish, and then there's always the potato crusted cod which is consistently good. We look forward to at least... More

I had been when they opened and fabulous and recently it was so-so. I was pleasantly surprised last night that the quality is back. I had a great wedge salad to start and the fluke. The waiter was knowledgable about what was gluten free and what could be modified. I also thought they had a great wine list with reasonable... More

This restaurant is literally across the street from the Metropolitan Opera and we chose it again for the convenience. We already know that they are used to timing the dinners so that their guests are not late for the performance. We were staying in the hotel Empire that the restaurant is part off - so it really could not be... More

1. Do not leave 3 octogenarians and another guest waiting 30 minutes for a table when they have had reservations for over a week, have visited your restaurant many times, and have an 8pm curtain. 2. If you violate rule #1, then visit their table to apologize and see if they are being served quickly, and consider sending them a... More

Dinner was good and so was the service I had the 3 course price fixed dinner- Iceberg lettuce with blue cheese to start- I asked the dressing to be on the side and it was put directly onto the lettuce! I had the Chatham cod for the main course- was good and the portion seemed large- I couldn't finish it.... More

We go here a few times per year. Good for a pre-Lincoln Center meal. The food is good and fresh tasting, good cocktails too. Service is not the best, but OK. Very small bar if you are early. Could be slow if you have show tickets, be sure to tell your server.

I went to a performance at Lincoln Center with a friend from Massachusetts. After, he said, "Let's get a bowl of chowder" and we went to Ed's. I am from Manhattan and he is from New England. We both sampled the New England chowder and even I knew that it was dreadful. It was floury but almost entirely devoid of... More

Nice second-floor dining area, roomy, with generously spaced tables. The food is OK, with some hits and some misses. The seeming upside of the budget-friendly pricing, lower than any of the reputable seafood restaurants in Manhattan, is being offset by smaller portions. We are all for smaller portions where it is an integral part of the general restaurant's theme and... More

I really enjoyed the meal I had at Ed's. The food is very good, creative. The ambience is delightfully subdued so one can have a friendly conversation. The décor is quite comfortable. The restaurant deal was good value for a 3 course meal. But I would go again even without that deal.

The first night landing in NYC we popped here as it was right next to our hotel, so it was very convenient. Food took quite awhile to arrive, as did the drinks. It had a very limited menu, consisting mainly of seafood. Slightly over priced for what you get. The drinks menu was centred around wines, so not an enjoyable... More
