We went to this restaurant for our anniversary and were not disappointed. The 3 course taster menu was more than enough - I couldn't finish it. The dessert was to die for. Hands down the best dessert I have ever had. They were divided into categories of chocolate, orchard, grape etc. I chose orchard and had the time of my... More
We enjoyed an almost 3 hour love affair feasting on traditional and exotically flavored French cuisine under the direction of world REI owned Chef Jean George Vongerichten! Meticulous service. Highly expensive and worth every penny. 4 of us enjoyed price fixed meals with seasonal and traditional delights. Check out these photos. Very generous portions.
Make your reservations 30 days in advance (exactly). It is well worth the $ for the meal. It is not inexpensive and the food is out of this world. Jackets and Slacks required for men.
You can wear jeans (nice jeans this is NYC) no table cloths but same great food as the main restaurant. The beet and burrata was amazing - husband had the octopus which he loved. Knowledgeable wine steward. I was absolutely freezing so make sure you are not in skimpy bar attire, seriously needed a blanket. This is a nice a... More
For being a 3 Star Michelin rated restaurant I expected so much more from the food. Of our 4 courses only 1 had a real "WOW" moment where we thought, 'this is really amazing!' For how much the "Prix Fix" meal cost every single serving, spoonful, and morsel should be out of this world, in my opinion. It's a good... More
I can't say enough good things about Jean George's and its staff. The food was INCREDIBLE and the staff was amazing. Some of the best food and service I have ever had in my life and I'm pretty well traveled. I would HIGHLY recommend experiencing Jean George's.
Visited for the fixed price lunch menu. Food was outstanding (highly recommend the yellowfin tune ribbons) and service excellent. Couldn't resist trying the deserts and they far and away were some of the best desserts I've had in fine dinning establishments.
Truly outstanding dining experience in very elegant setting. Very formal and beautiful yet also a friendly atmosphere. Several tasting menus including vegetarian option. Excellent wine pairing as well. Whichever you choose, be sure to include the signature caviar and egg dish, simply the best!
