Traveling to NYC for business on my birthday, a colleague and I came across Frankie & Johnnie's and decide stop in for dinner. We weren't disappointed! Traditional American steakhouse in a comfortable setting. You will not be disappointed!

Three of us went to dinner at this steakhouse in Manhattan on 45th Street. Two ordered filet mignon and I had a ribeye. They were cooked as requested and as tender as advertised. The creamed spinach was good, though I must say, I have a better recipe. Also, the potatoes au gratin was very good. I would recommend this and... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience with good wine and superb steaks. The lobster Bisque was the best and recommend the crabcakes too. Will be visiting again when in NY.

Frankie & Johnnies has been serving great steaks for as long as I've been spending time in New York and I hate to admit how many years I've passed this place without trying it. Years ago, I used to frequent Barrymore's which was just a few doors down and is now a parking garage. This venerable restaurant started life as... More

Went to the location on 37th street, very close to Herald Square. It is beautiful inside, dark wood and vaulted ceilings, romantic lighting. The staff was super attentive, could have been because it was an early reservation (6:00 pm.) and we were one of only 6 tables in the place. The portions were very generous, and everything is ala carte... More

Recommended by a friend and we were not disappointed. We booked as we wanted to eat early when all the theatre goers were around. Good wines available to go with the fine steaks they turn out.

Frankie and Johnnie's steakhouse is a five minute walk from the Marriott Marquis. Good service with excellent steaks and salads and wonderful breads. One of the oldest restaurants in the city. Convenient to the plays.

The upstairs part of the restaurant is old and dirty. It immediately reminded me of a recent episode of Kitchen Nightmares. The waiter showed us the wine list which happened to be a little card inside a plastic holder that sat on the table. The few wines they had were served only by the glass. Although the place has some... More

Frankie and Johnnie's Steakhouse is traditional NYC Steakhouse. It has a nice old feel to it and has that charm you get with the NYC architecture. The staff is very attentive and does a good job. They are upselling a bit, but not too much. Nice staff, good people. I ordered the Porterhouse for two with my guest and the... More

You need to be Hungary, portion sizes are big and the food was very tasty and the steaks are cooked to how you would like. Well worth having a meal at this restaurant.

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
