This restaurant has moved from its old historic location. It was an actual speak easy in the old days and the old restaurant was quirky. The new version is much more open and inviting. We came late and they stayed open for us with great service. This is a good place to get a steak but they also have other... More

Frankie & Johnnie's is an iconic steakhouse, but I fear it is a bit past its' prime. (pun intended) The food was overwhelmingly average. The steak was not cooked properly and had to go back twice! The sides were unimpressive. The service was friendly but uninspired. This visit fell far short of expectations....except when it came to the price. That... More

We went here for dinner before seeing Kinky boots because of the location to the theater. I had the theatre menu which was a fixed menu with appetizer, entree and dessert. My filet was delicious and my husbands tbone was great. Wonderful wine list.

My husband and I had a lovely dinner here. My husband ordered lamb chops which were enormous and cooked to perfection. My petite filet mignon melted in my mouth and was very flavorful. The wait staff was attentive but not overbearing. Although it was a Saturday night pre-theater crowd, we were not rushed at all. I highly recommend this steakhouse!

I used to never go in here, because I thought it was just a tourist trap and then one day I said, "why not?" Boy was I wrong. I think it's one of the best steakhouse in NYC. The bone in sirloin is incredible. I bring the bone back for my dog and end up eating whatever is left. If... More

One of my colleagues invited several of us for lunch after telling us how great it was. Everyone enjoyed their meals. I had a Caesar Salad with sliced steak that was amazing! The steak was cooked perfectly! The Chicken Sandwich was a crowd favorite. Would definitely go here again!!

I didn't know that they are now in a new location - visited it for the first time. The location like the old one is perfect for dinner before a Broadway show. Excellent location. The new place is more roomy than the old place where you sat on top of each other. Important - Make a reservation and you will... More

My wife and I ate here after a broadway show. Conveniently located near the theater district. Atmosphere of the restaurant was nice. Service was good as well. Price was what you would expect from an upscale steakhouse in NYC. We both ordered the surf and turf. While the steak was cooked to perfections and seasoned very well, the lobster tail... More

Thought we would go here for Restaurant Week after a Sunday matinee. What a bad decision. We opted for regular menu not RW. Split a lettuce wedge. Virtually tasteless cheese dressing (probably from a bottle) and a sad looking piece of a lettuce wedge. My wife had salmon; just ok. I had chicken parmesan. Overcooked and sauce was also without... Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
