The service was outstanding. The waiter was very attentive and informative about the menu. My drink was superb, some combination of scotch and a sweet syrup. The food however was just okay. Not expecting miracles with chicken but it should be top notch in a...More

Perfect location, great service that will go the extra mile, and above all excellent fish, seafood and Italian inspired dishes. We had the tasting menu, and can say it's definitely worth a try. Wine markup on the upper side of the norm.

Impressions-Gluten friendly, service unacceptable, elegant dining room, above adequate wine by the glass selection, extensive wine list focusing on Italy and France with other areas available, food was overcooked or tasteless, dine elsewhere, very expensive. My wife and I arrived at 10:20 for 10:15 reservation....More

I've been looking forward to eating here for a while now and so glad I finally did. I had lunch with the hubby. Everything was excellent from the food to the service. My absolute favorite dish was the fusilli with octopus and bone marrow. Definitely...More

Absolutely amazing. The thing about marea is that even though there is a posh environment certainly present, the people there are extremely nice. I have been to the restaurant 3 times and all the food was great, expensive but great, and the people were absolutely...More

Very nice place near Central Park. Initially was dissapointed with questioning : lunch or dinner. I wasn't proposed with a dinner menue and set in a bar. A lunch menue is a little bit overpriced but quality and barmen service was good.

They made us wait 30 minutes before seating us. We ordered the 3 course prix fixe. The first course - Octopus - was overdone and chewy. I ordered the risotto next which was super al dente - it CRUNCHED in my teeth. My husband ordered...More

Is there a table location we should request during the dinner hour? Not sure if there is a view at night? Also, one guest has a hearing loss, is the restaurant noisy?

Request one with outside view , but any table is wonderful because of the ambiance. The noise level was normal when we were there. Hope this helps and you have not gone yet.
How much time should we allow for the four course dinner? Trying to decide eating before or after the theater for the two of us.

I would recommend you decide eating after the theater in order to fully enjoy your dinner - it is really good and it would be a pity to have a time limit..

Does anyone know if the bathrooms are on the same level that you eat on. My husband has a leg problem and doesn't do steps to well. Thanks

There are steep steps down to the restroom. I wouldn't recommend if your husband has issues with his leg.
